I grew up with this genre since i was 3 in 1984 watching movies like Star Trek 2, Star Wars and others since then, i even went to see The Abyss in a theater at age 8 then Total Recall and Terminator 2 when i was 9 and 10. It wasn't until 1995 when i was 14 i discovered 2001 and Blade Runner as they changed my life as i thought BR is the greatest movie in history and i also saw "12 Monkeys" on the big screen that year and in 1996 i rented "Brazil" (After being hynptoized by the trailer on the 12 Monkeys video) and "City of Lost Children" with "Akira" at one of the local rental stores when i lived in Carlsbad here in California at the time and went to see "Independence Day" 3 times at age 14, i was inspired.
