Yeah, I know you do. But you're a freaky kinda boy and... would you mind not standing so close? :?

I thought I was the resident sicko.

We realize you've been kinda busy lately and all, but we've been meaning to have a talk with you. The tampons were a nice touch, but your overall sicko output level is way down over the last two quarters... and this new kid, he's chomping at the bit... you see how it is....

Just wait. If babies can really hear the outside world while in the womb, this one's going to come out and challenge the old man.

Kid's first words are gonna be, "Where's my Dew?"

you know, that's one of them quotes I figger most kids nowadays just skip right over and don't get because
of the evolution of the meaning of "torpedo", which during the battle of Mobile Bay, meant "Mines", sea-lane
mines, actually just wooden casks of powder with detonators anchored in bay ...

so Farragut was saying "Yes, I see the mines in the water .. fuck that ... "

also, cookie to Freak for quoting correctly, and not the modern version so oft seen, full speed ahead ...

:cookiesm:

Aha, interesting. I was wondering about that when I read it earlier.

uh-huh.

see, ever now&then, the old dirty wormsman knows a thing or three ...

I'm thinking that maybe now most kids would answer that it was "full speed ahead" and
was a quote from a John Wayne / Henry Fonda WWII movie, except they wouldn't know
who Henry Fonda was and if you tried to hint 'em with "Jane Fonda's Daddy", that wouldn't
do much good, neither ....

I've run into a few people who didn't know who John Wayne was.

There's a new podcast on Sci-Fi Talk interviewing our two resident hacks - all rather boring as far as 'Hellhole' is concerned but two things piqued my interest when they got onto 'Sisterhood':
Bobo wrote:...And, of course, there's a huge story arc involved in the Dune Universe covering thousands and thousands of years, and by the time Frank Herbert completed his portion of the series, through 'Chapter House Dune', women are basically running everything...
Excuse me? His portion of the series? His books ARE the series...

And just after Keith had plugged his Wordfire site as the place to learn about Dune, Bobo popped in with this gem:
Bobo wrote:...Also, for information on Frank Herbert, and Dune, and other stories that Frank Herbert has written, or that Kevin and I are writing, you can look on the website dunenovels.com - which is our catch-all website for all the work we're doing togther...
Wha...huh?

I don't see why the fucking Herberts don't just go ahead and sign DUNE over to KJA and get it over with.
