Seriously, what is it about KJA and you fatass fuckers? There's a definite trend there.

And by the way...

It's SEURAT.

Simon never could spell worth shit.

You using a pic with a misspelling in it is like KJA crowing over a glowing review that contains an error so fundamental that it shows the reviewer had no fucking idea what he/she was talking about.

Ha ha!

why the wrong tense ? Is it to sound cool, to provoke a reaction, because you can't spell or just because ?
No need to answer I just had to point this out.

How are things in the Douchenet? Are people angry that they have to defend "Hellhole?" I think it's asking too much, personally, to shill for that piece of shit.

Is there any word from James C. Harwood/Frank A. Walden?

Perhaps some of you might prefer a wee little web forum of my own creation which I'm looking to turn over a new leaf with....which is, coincidentally, called "The Black Hole general discussion forum":

It's the nekkid butts that make that sport funny. I say let 'em hang!

Well played, Conway. Imagine someone seeing that and saying, "Oooh, interesting! Sounds like this one's both cool AND profound! I wonder what a 'douchenet' is?"

If that tag doesn't get people to read this piece of shit, nothing will.

I had to Google "Dochenet," wondering where KJA could have gotten such an absurd name. Guess what? It's apparently a surname.

Ah, "Dochenet" is a real name. In the book, however, they're using "Duchenet" (also a real name), which Dukester(? or the Hive Mind?) transformed into "Douchenet". ;)

I can't remember, but I'm pretty sure Omphalos came up with the idea to call KJASF the "Douchenet"

My momma told me to never take credit for things like the sky being blue or farts stinking, so I don't think I can take credit for the KJASF being The Douchenet either. It's just that obvious, i'nit? 'Sides, I'm pretty sure I was riffing off of someone, and IIRC it was Merkin. He cracked a joke about the "Douchenet" family being a bunch of douchenozzles over on T(A)U.

DazzyJim has joined Shannon in the "Let's tag this sucker with stupid trendy phrases like a couple of real morons" game!

One of his offerings is just kind of Mundane (like Kevin's first wife?): new must-read trilogy.

But the other one is inspired: better to rule in hellhole than serve in the diadem.

That's just so stupid I had to start a discussion on it:
Silly & grammatically erroneous tag

Showing 1-1 of 1 posts in this discussion | Your initial post: Jan. 21, 2011 10:36 AM PST

Ronald Craig says:

I'm sorry, but besides being silly, this tag is also grammatically incorrect.

As a TAG, this will be applicable to AT MOST one book. (Unless of course Anderson repeats the same line in all three books of the Hellhole trilogy. Not entirely implausible, I suppose, given his past performance. So at most THREE books.) So it's kind of silly from the start.

But it also makes no sense grammatically. Hellhole is a PLANET, so ON Hellhole would be the more usual phrasing.

Also, "the Diadem" in this book appears to refer to a female ruler. In which case the preposition IN is completely superfluous (and, in fact, adds an almost pornographic nuance).

It's bad enough that Anderson has chosen to steal a line from Milton. But it's really SAD when one of his fanboys ineptly tries to follow suit.

I guess his true forte really is the Wall-of-Text, and that he chokes on these teeny-tiny things.

(Sure doesn't look like he chokes on much else! :laughing-rolling: )

ZING! Very nice, indeed.

BTW, I expect Anderson *will* use this line in all three books - possibly multiple times in all three books - if past history is any judge.

In a recent interview, he described brainstorming lyrics for one of the Terra Incognito CDs. One of the lines he came up with - "When you reach the edge of the world, you can fly", I believe it was - was *so freaking awesome* that he insisted that they use it in three different songs.

Clearly a wordsmith of this caliber knows a winning bit of wordplay when he creates it. Or, in the case of the Hellhole example, steals it. So I think we can expect to see it more than once.
