I think we should put aside the first tuesday of every month, for everyone to post something, here on the forums, in a thread of sorts...... it can be a new thread, or one already established.
Onasander, I have to hand it to you. That's pretty damn funny. What better way to show what a graveyard that place has becomes than to suggest they organize an official day when people post? And a Tuesday, at that?
Coming here and suggesting, completely deadpan, that this will mean DN will catch us up "in a couple of years" was just icing on the cake. Nice one.
If Byron recognizes your post for what it is and deletes it, he's way smarter than I give him credit for.

I'm still very proud of The Quarry but … let's face it; in the end the real best way to sign off would have been with a great big rollicking Culture novel.

Good one, HBJ! Still there!
Onasander wrote:And my reply on deletions over there to freak was.... deleted.
But not for naught:
Onasander on DN in thread in question wrote:
Why? Why, just why? There was like, a post here. It was a nice post, and a rare one, as no one posts here anymore- we can't afford them to be deleted like this, as they are becoming so very, very rare here anymore. It's right up there with chopping down the last tree on Easter Island, or killing the last Sandworm- just a remarkably bad idea to start deleting the postings of the last poster.... what can possibly be benefited from this?
I miss people. People who spoke of Dune. I didn't do anything wrong, I am just a normal fan. Why is it like this here- why can't we just like, have discussions and such? Where I am one of twenty people talking about Dune? I hate being the only one, but this is the official dune discussion.
Asking this question will result in this being deleted as well. That's likely the only answer I'll get. Don't know the benefits of doing so, whatever.
OH THE HUMANITY!!!
Remember, rare is just another way of saying undercooked. Or half-baked.

You think maybe three times is the charm, huh?
I don't know why you don't just go out in a blaze of glory. There's nobody over there who cares what you have to say anyway. They're so afraid of insulting their grand poo-pah that they refuse to agree with you anymore. And the only ones who have anything to say are complete fluffers anyhow.
EDIT
just checking from home as my work pc is still non grata over there, looking for my post probably erased 2nd post, thinking that's gotta be the one that got me into that trouble with the alltightly urinator
and no it is still there, but wait til you see this!

It might take a while though before Byron The Coward Merritt will okay your new registry though. Sometimes it takes days other times it takes weeks. Eventually he will get to it.

if there was a bit more activity on that forum it might have been fun to come back with a sockpuppet but to argue with just one guy whom you know has some personal interest in ignoring all things critical of the nudune is not worth the time
quite frankly having left a little easter egg in my comment on the LA times article is more than enough for me
everytime he'll link to it he'll know, HE'LL KNOW, that it is I, Tim Lotek, who encompasses his doom hahahahahaha
