TheKJA is at the same talent level he was at in 1987. He really is a churn-em-out hack — I know we over-use that word here, but he really, honestly, truly is one.
He knows how to play the system, though. And he's gotten at least three huge breaks along the way: the early efforts with Beason and others (foot in the door), a job with the Star Wars Crap-Novel-Per-Month team (huge mega-franchise), and being able to mind-control Brian Herbert into letting him take over Dune (a respected, cherished series).
