where does KJA get his ideas from?

The first logical answer would be from his arse, them being a steaming pile of dung, but I just finished Dune and was browsing through the Appendix when I encountered a few things that might give some insight as to how the hack's mind work.

My copy of Dune

APPENDIX II The Religion of Dune p.579 wrote:Did God not give us Shaitan(Iblis, Satan) ?
So that's where he got the name for his idiotic Iblis Gingo(can't remember how it's spelled though, which in a way is good)?

He probably thinks he's super smart, with the "he/it that causes despair" part, but unless that bloke changed his name after he brought dispair and shit, that would mean his parents were actually prescient lol

Anyway I doubt it's a coincidence...

(it seems we're getting more insight into the reality of the fabled notes no?)

Edit
I typed more but my bastard mouse pad erased my post when my hand just brushed over it... I mean how is it possible to do that on purpose? I tried and failed, I think windows is programmed by Gremlins

"Ideas"? I'd rather say he randomly picks things from the original books and stuffs them into contexts of his own making, twisting then beyond all recognition in the process.

Star Wars, Iron Man, Twilight...

He's a copymeister, all of his ideas are lifted from one place or another. I can't think of one thing in any of the crap of his I've read that was purely original. He does however have the interesting ability to take a very dumb idea and make it worse i.e. Sun Crusher. In that ability he stands alone.

KJA would make a great scriptwriter for Michael Bay.

So that's the justification for the fucking spell casters huh?

Message for Mr Dumbfuck
it is a reinterpretation of Genesis; that means it is a parabole!!
In rhetoric, a comparison; specifically, a simile, especially a formal simile, as in poetry or poetic prose, taken from a present or imagined object or event: distinguished from a paradigm, or comparison with a real past event.
It is not for real you moron...

There is no magic in Dune, never has been never will be...

Then, just take something from the franchise you're raping and make it bigger. Construct an entire 300-page novel around that one fact. Cash paycheck.

Count Iblis was Patrick McNee's character from the original BSG.

He blatantly lifted Asimov's Nightfall for his Seven Suns.

Just that I read Nightfall and was told about Seven Suns. In Nightfall, the planet had several suns and there was no night except for every few thousand years.

yeah i read Nightfall, both the short story and the novel with Robert Silverberg and I found them both good at the time(I was just kind of bothered that having the crazy cultists be the saviours of humanity looked a bt too much like... well our present day cultist rants) but it was a good read.

I never really checked anything else from the JAcKet but the coincidence is... well it can't be one can it?

The worse part is that anyone with a bit of intellectual honesty would probably admit borrowing the idea as a homage to someone who inspired you, but I seriously doubt JAKie would admit that

What? He's always admitting when someone else took inspiration from his work!

It doesn't have to be bigger, per se. It just has to be Ultra. Which is really easy because you just add "Ultra-" to the beginning of anything that it does. Why didn't he just lift something from South Park and call it "Hella-"? At least that would be funny.

Sorry to hijack the ice cream imagery but my brain closed a couple circuits and I finally remembered why the hunting mites from one of the prequels was familiar:

en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Langoliers

Stephen King adaptation of some viscious miniature flying eaters. It was a terrible movie, and now made even worse because it was shoe-horned into the Duniverse.
