Greetings from the original "The Preacher" from DoD

Hey folks;

Did my annual pilgrammage to the old Dreamers of Dune forum only to see that it is still defunct. Let's face it, our old naib Stilgar must have walked off into the desert after all.

Anyhow, greetings to all from the old days and to all you new fans. Keep reading the good stuff and avoiding the bad stuff!

The Preacher

Even an Emperor may tremble before Muad'Dib, for he has the strength of righteousness and heaven smiles upon him.

Hi The Preacher.

I always thought The Preacher on Dungnovels was Sandchigger in disguise.

Maybe Chig is one of The Preacher's personalities... and we're differing personalities of Chig... :confusion-confused:

:angry-screaming:

I would have guessed SandRider. Or maybe it's just a common trend to speak in verse while on a Dune forum.

Hey folks;

Thanks for the warm welcome, good to be "back", as it were.

For the record, I am the original "The Preacher" from the long-defunct Dreamers of Dune forum. It was the only forum I regularly frequented

My original foray into the on-line Dune world was at The Lansraad, which I joined shortly after being sucked into reading Dune: House Atreides. I was understandly quite disgruntled at the time and my posts there were none-too-flattering where Pinky and The Brian were concerned, going so far as to accuse them of fabricated these "lost notes" solely for the pusposes of exploiting Frank Herbert's masterpiece sheerly for selfish profit. Unfortunately - or forutunately for me, as I choose to look at it, the admins at The 'Raad had their noses buried so far up Brian Herbert's ass that they could tell you what he had for breakfast that morning. Needless to say, my tenure with them was short in the extreme and I was bounced before I could exclaim "Kull wahad!" Their loss, may their knives chip and shatter.

I guess that makes me a true castout so it stands to reason that I should become a member here. By the way, I love the title and the premise of this forum and, since my favourite Dune character and my chosen nickname has always been "The Preacher", it seems that this truly is meant to be the on-line Dune forum for me!

I recognize some names from the old days, it's good to see you all still at it and going strong.

Cheers, Preach

Welcome & welcome again. :D

I wonder, though, given his retiring nature (snort) and apparent technophobia, whether anyone has really ever had their noses up Brian's ass. Besides Archie the Herbert Dog, I mean. ;) I haven't been around in the online Dune communities as long as some of you, but since I have it's definitely been KJA who's the public face, er, well, backside that people have been kissing and sucking up to. :lol:

I'm thinking he meant Byron, I know he used to frequent the 'Raad.

Ah.

In retrospect, keeping a bit of the ole schnozzola up Byron's tushie, with an eye to his future prospects, might not have been such a bad idea....

But what's done is done, and dumb is dumb, and Byron can get roughly fucked by a chain gang. :)

Nope, I meant Brian Herbert: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Brian_Herbert

The 'Raad was run by someone named Baron Moritani and I think he'd make love to Brian Herbert's shoe if he could.

I think what confuses us is that Brian claims to have "moral reservations" about the internet, or some such nonsense.

Byron was pre-spice grandson, or something like that, on the 'Raad.
