Welcome²
Nice to have a philosophist's point of view on Dune, I'm sure it must be riddled with references and I/we look forward to unearth them :cylon101:

Mostly harmless doesn't mean harmless. I like to think that if I felt like it I could cause harm with one post.

Perhaps I'll post a pic in the thread with the pics in it.

Wonderful and yet horrifying place isn't it? Whereabouts (I've always wanted to say that) are you from?

I was born and raised in northern cali, but no I live in the southern regions aka hell.

I don't think I'd live anywhere else. California has desert and forest and ocean and mountains... And so much more. If anyone gets bored living here, than they're obviously not a very intelligent person if they can't apply their interests in some way.

The Central Valley, Modesto area just an hour south of Sacramento. Agriculture everywhere.

Haha Modesto  I feel bad for you. I grew up in Fairfield/Vacaville so I know exactly what you are talking about. And I agree about California in general, but down here it's way way more unlivable. I live in Riverside now and I work 30 minutes away in the desert. Suddenly I have allergies and the bugs are ginormous. A season pass to Disneyland does NOT make up for outrageously huge bugs.

I don't live in Modesto... I live in the dinky little cow towns surrounding it. I've gotten lost and almost died in the surrounding orchards a few time, they stretch on for miles.

Yeah, never been a fan of SoCal. (Or DisneyLand) I like where I'm at because it's only an hour from San Francisco and the ocean and fairly close to northern California... Trips to Oregon some years for weddings and what-not. Whole 'nother world up there.

I have extreme loathing for Oregon and Washington both.

But yeah, it's weird when I drive down the freeway here and there's cities to my right and left instead of fields of olive trees.

What I love about Oregon is it's always raining, always freezing cold, you can smell and breathe the salt water ocean, and there's forest right in the middle of towns. Much different from the urbanscape everywhere here.

Almonds. Walnuts. Any kinds of nuts you want, and we kinda grow them here. Few years back there was a big nut scare because people were making off with tonnes of nuts, when a single large bag is several thousand dollars. Farmers were pissed.

Oh man I wish I had known. I could have used a couple grand a few years ago.

Yeah, every time I've ever been in Oregon it's been raining hard, and I just hate it. I don't have anything against rain in general but I hate being wet and cold and I hate not having a choice. I know that's a little hypocritical to say since I live in southern California, but hey, I go where the hawt bitches be.

It was my mistake, I thought someone used the word philosophist instead of philosopher... turns out it is actually a word.

In hostiles, misspellings or misusages are mortal sins.

In friendlies, lapses or foibles.

(Unless they looks or smaylls like feesh, that is. Arrrrrh! )

I'm also French, dual nationality double passport!

but to be honest I was not being cheeky, i forgot the exact definition of the -ist over the -er...

I'll let Arrmanda decide on my punishment for being cheeky when i was not
