No kidding FZ, who on earth thought it was a good idea to try a NHL team in Phenoix Arizona?

Another NHL team in my back yard. I dont really give a fuck, other then if it causes more traffic then I say no fucking way.

I like to hate on the leafs and root for them to suck, so in a way I would like this new team as an anti leafs team.

BB, is the market really that big for another team in Ontario ? I mean with the Leafs and the Sens already...

without question, we can get 10'000 people out to a OHL game, i would go as far as to say it would not even effect the revinue of those two current teams, because of non leaf fans alone. In other words, I would never go to a leaf game, but I would go to this new teams games.

Is there an arena in Hamilton to support an NHL team? I mean, nowadays, they say you need 19,000 to 21,000 seats to make a profit...

We could build a new arena in Mississauga. We have the money. Thanks again Hazel.

Another team in Quebec would be good for hockey over here... it would give the Canadians a reason to move beyond the first round...

To put it into perspective, Alberta currently has two NHL teams (Flames and Oilers) and a provincial population of 3.5 million people. Ontario has two NHL teams (Maple Leafs and Senators) and a provincial population of 13.5 million people. I think Ontario can easily support another team.

I'm all for more teams in Canada, but it's hard to argue with Bettman's expansion of NHL revenues. I do agree that the guy doesn't give a shit about Canadian hockey, but I guess he doesn't need to if the league is run the way it is. If all they care about is money and not bringing hockey to the fans, then more power to them I suppose. I wish Balsillie all the best and hope he succeeds.

And i heard rumors that the next team to move will go to Vegas?

I mean...Vegas?

What will they do? Built a giant casino around the ice and instead of sudden death, they will play it at the roulette ?

Go Hamilton Tigers!

Copps Colosseum is big enough to hold an NHL crowd, but I heard that if Hamilton gets its own team then they'd build a brand new state-of-the-art rink. Just hear-say from my dad. Heck, if there was a Hamilton team, I just might be tempted to follow hockey...
