I guess Kevin's just going to pretend whatever happened today didn't really happen.
(Kinda fits with the way he also ignores unfavorable reviews and such, no?
)

KJA has posted something called "The San Diego Comic Con Blur (part 1)" to his blahg. (Shit ... that means there'll be a part 2, too. Usually.
)
And
WE GOT PIX!!!
The man hisself, looking well-oiled (or at least, oilish), holding a sample:
Original caption:
"Which way to the restroom?"
Oh, sorry, no that's the next pic. This one was:
"It's not ready yet."
And this one is simply delightful:
Original caption:
"This one's WAY past ready ... stick a fork in it!"
(Could probably use a good fork ... knowharramean?
)
So what do you think, is the message "no pix, it didn't happen" is getting through?

Yeah, looks like a
great time. I can practically feel the elation drained from my synapses as I look upon those pictures. What a hoot!

Probably too warm in San Diego. Nice shirt, though.
I have to chuckle every time I see the Terrible Incontinence book in trade PB. I hope it burn Keith up every time he sees it.

Did it not get published as a hardcover?

And currently taking on water at #55,000 at Amazon. Looks like TheKeith is
just going to miss being about to crow about his "best-seller" status on this one ...
(Seriously, that book has done fuck-all, especially considering its fairly heavy marketing. When will publishers stop handing this clown contracts?)

Even though this is the book he's "wanted to write for years", I can't help think that it's really more about him getting to include "lyricist" on his resumé, and getting to be a Cool Music Person, hanging with other CMPs on The Rawswill Sicks.

And let's not forget Shawn Gordon, official Internet Tough Guy.

I read a bit of The Edge of the World in a books tore the other day. I just opened the book at random and started reading halfway down the page.
A woman stood on the deck of a ship, remembering the details of how someone she cared about had been attacked or had died or something. The prose was overwrought, and the events had clearly occurred a chapter or two before.
Open the book at random and you get a recap? That's all I need to know.
Edited to add: looking at the Amazon page for Edge of the World, it appears the special forces have started playing their games. 4- and 5-star reviews with the kind of gushing praise that's just an embarrassment to all.

Just got the latest Anderzone newsletter (#45), I'll scan it and put it up later this week after I finish my biology class.

nice photos- still pudgy & pastey - Keith's in his mid-40s, right ?
I'm 62, drink like a fish, still smoke a pack or two of Winstons a day,
and I'm in much better shape than he is ...
of course, I work for a living ....

Damn, I am jealous. I quit smoking 7 months ago and I pretty much hate the whole fucking world now.
Still drink like a fish though!

Kevin's about a year younger than I am, so he's 47.
I haven't smoked since Feb/Mar of last year ... what, about a year and a half now?
(Would love to have one, but won't.
The last pack I opened is still sitting over there on the table, half full. I really am a masochist, ain't I?
)

2 years and a bit quit for me now. I still smoke sometimes when I'm out of town.
After a year it gets easier.

Smoked for about a year when I was very, very young. Never really got hooked properly, but I still get a craving when I smell that first whiff of igniting tobacco when someone lights up.

Smoking gives a wise man time to think and a fool something to shove in his mouth.
I'd like to try to quit soon. I have stashed a closet full of nicotine gum, lozenges and patches for whenever my balls get big enough. Maybe once all the kids are in school, take a week off and strap myself to the bed with an IVmorphine drip .

i smoked for years. It took years to quit because I kept going back. I think I smoked less than an entire pack in the last five years or so.

I was kind of like HBJ, smoked some when I was younger, (highschool) but luckily enough never really got hooked good. I gave it up when I lost a foot race to my brother. (I thought he was going to kill me when I handed him my pack and said I quit) I figured if it was already effecting my breathing like that, that I best quit before I did get hooked on them. I slipped once about 6 years later and smoked one cig. Havn't touched them since.
Trying to convince my brohter-n-law and his fiance (plus a dear friend of mine) to quit but of course that won't happen until THEY are ready to. I think it will be harder for him. He's 39 and been smoking since highschool and she's 20 but I'm not for sure how long she's been smoking. I would guess she smokes about a pack a day (some times more, sometimes less)
Can't stand the smell of cigerretts anymore but I admit I still love the smell of a good pipe. And no, I never smoked a pipe myself.

I promised one of my friends that if he would quit smoking, I'd learn to speak Spanish (he's from El Salvador). That was three years ago and I haven't learned anything beyond "cabrón", which I use to refer to his smoking hide in anything but it's original context

Never smoked anything, ever. My parents both smoked like their hair was on fire (although my dad quit, to his credit), and I think I just decided to never go down that road.

Good for you Duke.
I'm sure they are more like you who have never even started. I hope my sons will be among those.
