I didn't realize there was anything outside your comfort zone, except KJA, BH, and Byron of course :wink:.

Furries are generalize a lot o_o;

but, there are a few definitions:

One is, furry is a slang term used to describe ANY anthropomorphic animal (under this definition, Bugs Bunny and Mickey Mouse are furries)

Another is a furry is anyone who dresses up as an oddly colored, slutty, anthropomorphic animal in order to have sex with other people dressed up this way (that CSI episode is a good example of this generalization/definition). In a lot of cases, this calls up images of poorly made fursuits writhing around in a furpile. Or someone dressed up as an animal and then having sex with a real animal of that species.

The truth, however, is more along the lines of this. A Furry Is someone who feels, in some way or another, that they ARE that animal that they are dressing up as. And even then, they don't always dress up as it. I don't dress up and go to conventions. I'm an at-home reclusive furry who threatens to throw angry cats at anyone who bothers me. I have a few cats, as well, but the thought of doing anything sexual with them disgusts me. Same with my dog, or any other animal.
Wikipedia has a page here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Furry_fandom

Here is a thread that has some links to episodes of a show that featured furries, and replies/reactions of furries who watched it (including myself - though technically I didn't watch it as my comp sucks and hates youtube): http://forums.furcadia.com/index.php?fu ... opic=57022

I myself don't know why most furries are depicted in art as usually naked or dressed so that little is left to the imagination. Maybe it's because they're comfortable with their bodies. I dunno, and can't speak for them. I can only speak for myself in that my gf likes me to dress this way ;;

Basically, furries are like any normal person who has a weird hobby.

Stalking Cat is a furry, and he does body modification according to his beliefs.

Lizard Man doesn't consider himself a furry (as far as I've heard) and does it so he can be a carny.
...or a functional lunatic.
I already know I'm insane. Lunacy is fun!
We all do things our neighbors don't agree with. Just as our neighbors do things we don't agree with. Participating in the furry fandom is one of those things.
Lucky for me, I live on a farm. My neighbors are far away and we don't interfere with eachother.

I'm not really familiar with how wind energy is doing on this continent, but that sounds like quite a few. How's that compare to everyone else?

We have a ton in Northern CA, and even more in So Cal. The problem is that the load demands are so big that we can't build them fast enough. I think that they have finally gotten past all of the environmental concerns though, so they should be going up even quicker.

I have a confession...

We have a halloween cat ears hairband, the kids like to dress up... and my wife was wearing it when I came home one night. I guess one of the kids had put it on her.

Well, later that night, I asker her NOT to take it off. :wink:
