I finally got around to scanning my DUNE art. Most were done in Sharpie Pen Marker years ago. I hope they look cool enough for my sietch. Hail Jacurutu! :)

Thank you for your praise, ULF and Freak! I am very proud of how the art turned out and still looks good. I'm particularly proud of how I drew the crowds of Fremen and Leto's followers in some of the pictures, which are represented as swarms of dots or lines. My DM picture is defintely cool one, with Paul's head of sand crying water from his blue within blue eyes and with the worms worshiping him the process. The GEOD picture took a lot of effort to do, as I recall.

Here's a recent picture I did a couple years ago. It's more of a Jacurutu themed art piece, and it's inspired by the thread in the Prequels/Sequels section: "Great Stools of Dune." The design is inspired by the design of a paperback of edition of Dune which portrayed the Fremen as brown leather hooded rangers and the worms as very slender yet extremely long earthworms, or parasitic worms.

What do the Fremen father and son say. Well, their lines are kind of stupid, but it keeps well with the theme of whacked-off writing in the new Dune books. It's also based on the mistake I made in thinking that spice is worm feces, next to being dehydrated remains of exploded sandtrout. The scenario in the picture is that pre-spice masses are no longer occurring (WHAT?!), and that the Fremen must now gather spice from giant worm stools on the surface of Arrakis.

Fremen Father: Lad, we may not have pre-Spice masses or Spice blows anymore, but at least the worms have given us the gift of their Spice feces.

Fremen Son: Bai-La Kaifa, Father.

For freak, noticed your using that sig and thought you may like a version without the dead link.

The one is yours with the link painted over with careful colour matching.

And this has a few sliders used.

Use, Abuse, Ignore, the choice is yours.

Dunefeesh stop laughing. :)

Gorrem on deviantART posted a new piece focused on Leto II as the God-Emperor. It's probably my favorite fan interpretation of the character thus far.

The artist has previously done artwork based on the series, of which I believe a few have been shared here.

Best I've ever seen. Love this interpretation.
Not sure if the arms fit the descriptions in the book... (the head was in the cowl, and the arms went under segment folds?), but never the less- AMAZING.

I should have asked Jules to draw that kind of chick's butts on these play-cards...

Hello, everybody. It´s been a really long time since I walked over these sands.

I feel a little like an intruder after having been away for so long, but recently a colleague of mine gave me one of the t-shirts he designs and I thought this was the proper place to share it (and to make a little of advertising  ):

Hope you enjoy it!

What's up Jose? Make any new Dune books lately?

Hello Omph,

Hmmm… new dune books, nope, sorry. My current projects in that area are binding my collections of old Vertigo comics like Lucifer or The Invisibles and maybe in the near future doing something like what I did with those Rakis Hoard tomes but with Lovecraft material.

I did however find some Dune goodies in the vast web that could be worthy of being shared in certain forum, I´ll send you a mail when I get home and let you decide.

Yesterday I was reading Wisdom of the Sand: Philosophy and Frank Herbert's Dune by Kevin Williams and in the Acknowledgments section the author says that some artwork from the book had to be removed due to spatial limits but that it could be found at the page of the artist:
