Meh, I hate vague and wierd drawings like the last one, like they do in concept art and probably draw while on LSD.

It seems there are quite a few works that get posted again and again, sometimes a scant few posts apart. :?

And why did you post prequel art here? Infidel defiler! They are not Dune! :x

Have you noticed most of them look like "superheroes" cartoon shows' art style? I wonder why...

Yeah there’s a distinct Samurai Jack feel to a few of them.

Just a thought but rather than Frackin freak’s servers is there any way we could set up a multi user account somewhere like Photobucket and we could then compile all our Dune related artwork in one place.

Yea, Photobucket could work, I guess.

Couldn't be Irulan, as she's blond IIRC.

Nice 2nd Baron pic(dunno why they always stick him with red livery when the Haronnen colors are blue), the 1st is obviously Lynch inspired.

Nice Lynch sardaukar...again, nice armor and rifle, but no friggin' canonical ciggar. :|

Funny looking Squid navigator. At least it rhimes with Guild.

'Thopter's been shown.

The BG is obviously Mohiam holding the box of pain.

I know...the artist however did call the picture "Irulan" if you check out the link. It didn't make that much sense to me so I assumed it was an Honored Matre or something.

Red tends to work as a colour for villains, makes them look more "evil" or something...call it a bit of "artistic freedom".

I know, red(as in blood, violence) is almost always the color of the evil side in computer games. Look at C&C for instance.

Green implicates disease and bio-warfare(or radiation, God knows they like to make radiation greenish).

Blue for the good ol' guys.

Inhuien, that wasn't criticism on Photobucket, I have an account there too(though friggin' "tips" and hints that I should "go pro" aren't a welcome feature)...and I think they're a bit slow on loading even profile pages with no pics.

Good point, so anyone got a suggestion re hosting sites, and this is all an assumption of mine that a thread such as this is placing an unwanted load on the server and it’s upstream bandwidth, Freakzilla is that the case?

Please malika don't infer criticism from my comment. They're fantastic pictures you've found.

It's not my server and we are given the space we have for free, so I don't want to fill it up with images.

Somebody here could make a photobucket account right? It shouldn't be that hard. :)

I helped a friend set one up. It's super easy.

I used Flickr myself, before I set up the website. I just lob stuff in a special directory on the latter now.

Of course it doesn't load on the Jacurutu server. AFAIK normal members don't have an "upload" option for posts, and only uploading is strain to the server.
Every time you load a page with pics it strains the address' server.

How's Flicker? Does it load faster? Photobucket always seems so slow for me, that's why I can't bother putting any new pictures.
I understand the upload speed in Israel also sucks, so that's another disadvantage for me using such sites(takes me several minutes to upload a 5mb file to my Gmail account to send the Dune novels to people, though that's only when first uploading it, later it's stored there so it's fine).

Thank you, thank you, Malika! I've been trying to find that blue ornithopter picture again ever since I left DN. I love that thopter!

I like that concept of the Baron inside a tub. Sure it's not correct, but it's a damn fine interpretation. Very creepy.

I also really like the Navigator interpretation. It's very squid-like as others have said, but I love that idea. It's certainly a very imaginative concept.

Thanks for posting these!

Flickr wasn't too bad, but I haven't used it for a while.

I'm also on ISDN at home...kinda slow.

But not as slow as Mandy on dial-up. :P
