Well today was the third day of >42 C temperatures (that's 108 F) and yesterday reached 45.7 (114). Fuck.

WOW. We are at summer, and not even here, in Rio de Janeiro, we got so high temperatures like these!

Are you kidding? This is mild compared to -40 winters back in Alberta. So glad I moved :)

In the last few weeks I have been doing a travel leg that takes me from Hollywood to Sacramento to Seattle. Its pretty much without excpetion been in the 70's in Hollywood, the 60's in Sacramento, and the 50's in Seattle. Niiiiiiiice. I love the west coast! I am NEVER going east again.

beautiful clear Day in West Texas.

mid 60's may hit 70, nice little southwest warm breeze...

we get hot as fuck tho, too, in the summer time

our complaint is no rain - no measurable rainfall on the ranch
since before Thanksgiving. The mistletoe in the mesquite are
dying.

hottest I've ever stood in was 130F in Saudi.
120F maybe out in deserts around Las Vegas.

it is true about the dry heat, tho, altho the sun will beat you
down quickly, you can just feel the radiation ....

summer in the deep South, about 92F or so with 90% humidity
is a soul-killer ....

Think we could change the name of the topic to something a little less profane?

Thanks

On intense heat

And a Sole-maker.

If one stays out in that southern heat it can cause brain damage.

I go out and mow lawns, cut weeds down with a sling blade and throw logs into the creek.

we're currently at -7 C with -16 C in the long-term forecast. We hit -25 a couple weeks ago.

FUCK IT'S COLD!!
Pretty much the same of course, and it's snowing here AGAIN. I was afraid for my life driving to work yesterday. Must get snow tires...

And Schu, how are you liking all that direct sunlight? I know we could sure use some. So far as I've heard, for the past few years, Australia's been the hardest-hit when it comes to all these climate irregularities. All the drought and such.

Yup, and we get what's called the lake effect which makes the snow fall in the valley that much worse. The lake effect also causes the worst smog you've ever seen.....well maybe some spots in LA are worse, but as of two weeks ago we had the worst air quality in the States. It's like smoking three packs a day I hear.

Ive been driven through SLC three times, all three times in high summer; like August. Every time there has been a very visible, well boardered layer of shit in the air. Its like beautiful blue sky, with a solid, sharp line of black running through it like a stripe. Its the oddest form of pollution I have ever seen. L.A. has a layer, but its not as defined as the one in SLC.

4th in a row over 42, and there are three more forecasted >40 days after today.
