That's the only interpretation that makes any sense.

And there's nothing linking those sorceresses with Rossak. But it was on Rossak that the Fremen sayyadinas became wild Reverend Mothers:
And [Jessica] saw the thread of the past carried by Sayyadina after Sayyadina—first by word of mouth, hidden in the sand chanteys, then refined through their own Reverend Mothers with the discovery of the poison drug on Rossak

I imagine the "sorceresses" are the sources of the BG arcana of "tricks". The BG are a result of combining all those different real skills.

Le Hack ripped of the witch's from Wolverton's Star Wars novel, The Courtship of Princess Leia including the dislike of males and all that angry female power crap.

I always took that quote to mean that, for a while, there were organizations of women that were able to convince people they had powers, in order to hold them in their thrall - that is, they used their real abilities to make people think they were goddesses and sorceresses. After all, it wouldn't be terribly difficult for the precursors to truthsayers to convince people that they were, say, mindreaders.

KJA's a hormonal female, what do you expect?

And it was totally mass-hypnosis. (Or they slipped something into everyone's drinks...)

Nah, not really.

What I would like is silence.

One of the most annoying has to be Erasmus being .... Marty? Or Daniel. I don't know, even though it's some shitty character that KJA and/or BH thought up before they even found the notes.

Does anyone have a link to the interview where we're told the pathetic story of the genesis of the character Erasmus?

Yeah. Daniel and Marty as robots is Annoying. They are facedancers.
It's almost as if they didn't read or understand the ending of Chapterhouse. Why bother to write a sequel if you're brain can't handle the original material? Retarded idiots.

But the whole Paul of Dune retcon thing makes me think they just don't care about continuity and want to transform Dune into something they CAN understand:

More Action,
More Torture,
More Gore,
More Stupid characters,
More unresolved storylines,
More "Surprising Twists",
More Repetition,
More Adjectives,
More Chapters,
More Words,
More Books....More Money.

Gives new life to the old 'less is more' saying, doesn't it?

True, more or less.

More mores, that lessen Dune more and more :

Ulraspice
Ultimate Kwisatz Haderach
Evermind
Oracle of Time (and everything else)

Remember, the Oracle of Time was originally the "Oracle of Infinity". ;)

I never could understand why she agreed to the downgrade.

Norma of Dune?

Oh, yes, that will be worthwhile.

:P

Come to think of it, The Normacle was the only character what didn't have a happy ending in the Grunter/Sadworms "Dune 7" PoS.

Or maybe she eventually reforms Omnius and has his/its love child?

That would be so nice.... :D

I think that would be preferable - let them roll around in their own shit instead of humping Frank's corpse.
Hell, let them do Omnius of Dune, Erasmus of Dune, Spaceprobe #A-71836-NZ of Dune...

Actually, the writing style of a Hunter-Seeker-Drone-Thingy log might just be within the realm of JKA's abilities:
