okay, so you're not as gracious in victory as I was in defeat, but,
Mr. Dukester, if you had so much belief in Utah, why did you pick
Alabama for 33 points ?

money ? mouth ? where ?

It's not a perfect system, I guess, and depending on how
Florida and OU look, Utah could have a legitimate claim to
bragging rights as the best team this year.

But, either an SEC or Big12 South team will be the National Champion ....

they just don't make a trophy for shoulda/coulda/woulda .....

Ah, SR, you forget my Nevada roots. I know how to separate my heart from my wallet.

I always bet the way I think will gain me either money or pool wins. Hell, I bet against Nevada and Oregon all the time.
SandRider wrote:okay, so you're not as gracious in victory as I was in defeat ...
You know what? Fuck THAT!

I don't think you can even conceive of the arrogance, elitism, general idiocy, and overall lack of class from the typial southern football fan if you haven't dealt with it from the outside for about 30 years. Sportsmanship can kiss my ass tonight. I'm gleefully posting smack-talk at every site I can think of. My keyboard is beginning to smoke from all the activity.

Not personal against you, SR; I think you know that. Besides, y'all Texans are a different bunch, and I don't lump you in with the dumbasses to your east. I have respect for any state that is pissed its not still an actual republic. :)

Utes! Utes! Utes!

well, I think you know that I ain't exactly your typical Texan, either ....

I am gonna hafta have a discussion about the differences
between Southern Gentlemen and White Trash.....

but to tell you the truth, I was about 12 or 13 before I realized
they even played football outside of the South ....

Yeah, I know. That's what I'm talking about above.

But history shows that it was the Ivys and the Midwestern schools that actually got intercollegiate football going. They brought it to the South ... and that's when cheating was invented.

Seriously, you should get hammered tonight and scam on strange women. All will be forgiven in the morning.

I felt pretty giddy when Nevada made the Sweet 16 in the basketball tournament, but I'm guessing 13-0 and a huge win to finish it off feels even better.

oh man this is agood as it gets here. I honestly didn't know if we could do it but that first drive was something else. I knew we had a chance but not like this.

As for women, I was turned down by the wife so im shit outa luck.

hope you enjoyed it, Crys - y'all surely deserved it. (I'm a believer)

and Duke, no, we didn't invent cheating in football. We invented Cheating in Football
and Blaming the Officials as the Reason we lost that danged game ....(also when I was a
kid the excuse was either "We gots to get some more colored boys" or "It was them
damn colored boys ....")

You also gotta know how long and hard I've loved the Crimson Tide.
What happened last night was big. I'm a fair man, tho. Like I said, most
of the year, I really thought Alabama was gonna roll all the way, and really
they probably should have handled Florida and been in the Big Game.

but (woulda/shoulda/coulda) ....I'll jump on your bandwagon - Utah should
end up number 2 behind the BCS winner, and loudly protest their treatment.
(Especially if Oklahoma wins - remember how they got WHUPPED by Texas Tech)
(who got STOMPED ON by motherfucking OLE MISS, but that another story ....)

Duke, you've won the pool. No-one can catch you.

Congratulations. You get cookie.

:cookie sm:

I will order a Ute hat & shirt, and tell everyone I know BCS notwithstanding,
Utah is Numba One, the True National Champions .....

then I'll go hang myself in the barn.

there are very few programs in college football that I dislike or truly despise.

THE Ohio State is one of them.

the look of crushing disappointment on their fans' faces tonight was priceless.
makes me wish I'da felt up to going into Town to watch the game
at the Deadhorse. Great Finish.

By the way, to the University of Oklahoma - 45-35.

(Ahem. You only have to include the definite article in the full name.

The Ohio State University. You don't need it with "Ohio State" or "OSU". OK? ;)

At least that's better than the uni I was at when I first got over here; there they declared that it was wrong to include the definite article in the official English version of the name (even though it sounds better with, IMHO):

University of Tsukuba.

Nothing pisses me off more than farners telling me how to use MY language. )

And familiar. That's three straight losses in BCS games.

Look here, tick, don't tell me, tell the English Majors on the team -

every NFL player ever to come from that school says in their introduction

"THE Ohio State"

with great emphasis, bordering on grunting, on the "THE" .....

in fact, that's right up there in the top ten reasons I hate the Buckeyes ....

I think I was a little drunk when I posted that and y'all shoulda caught it,
but it just proves what I been thinking, that nobody's reads my bullshit,
anyway.

Texas whipped Oklahoma (45-35). Texas Tech whipped Texas. Then lost to Oklahoma
and motherfucking Ole Miss (who beat Florida, by the way). And of course, Utah lost to no-one ....

That just because they're too stupid to remember or can't say "University". ;)

(Hey, mention of the pros reminds me: anyone ever hear tell of a player named Jimmy De Leone? We lived on the same floor in the dorm my freshman year; we weren't friends or anything but I was just wondering if he ever made it to the big time....)

Ummm.... no.

You're currently in Fourth Place.

Duke actually won several days ago, when his current point total
exceeded all our potential points. He's going to win by maybe 100 points.

The battle is for Second Place between me, you & Crysknife.

I don't know why Alabama fans are embarrassed by this loss. Utah is a hell of a team. People just have to get over the fact that football is everywhere now and not just back east. When you hold people down, they will eventually rise up to kick some ass. We were the first school to ever have a number one pick in two sports in the same year. We are the only school to have two undefeated seasons in the BCS era. Our basketball team is on the rise again, and we will recruit even better players now thanks to the win.

Plus, no way was Kruger and company going to let a QB that uses three names get the better of them. Said so himself. Every time I see JPW on TV I think of the foreigner song "dirty white boy". He should drop the middle name.

And if I get a little obnoxious over it, hey, SEC fans have had decades to be that way.

Go Utes! My basketball team just notched another win over an SEC team tonight. Good week to be a Ute.

I still give props to Alabama and the SEC. I know they are good every year. But there is room for the MWC in the BCS I should think.

No player by that name is listed in the NFL Register, which is about as official as it gets.

yeah, I turned up no match with NFL, but the lawyer went to THE Ohio State ....
