I started to post in the "2013" thread about how pleased I was to see
all these posts on the board with the 2013 date, esp since we've had
another new guy come in and add-to older threads ... there are some
threads here that have (relevant) posts spread out over years ....
(I don't venture out into the forum-world as much as I used to, but I'll
be damned if I could point-out another forum with similar phenomena ...)

then there's my current & long-running sig line:

a sentiment I'm sure Bryon feels just as strongly about now as then ....

anyway, this got me to thinking that the original purpose of this thread,
started by Chaniluv, was to wish Jacurutu itself a Happy One Year Birthday ....
which evolved, over the years, into a General Happy Birthday thread ....

then, it occurred to me what I had just said : over the years ...
and I realized that we are less than a month away from the Sietch's FIFTH birthday ....

and, because it's fucking cold & wet in West Texas today, again, and I simply wasn't
going out into it (that's what the Mexicans are paid (extremely well) for) and the fact
that I got so shit-faced drunk in the LittleBigTown last night (ROLL MUTHAFUCKIN TIDE ...)
that the first thing I did when I got up off the hallway floor at the Crack of Noon
was to brew another pot of campfire coffee and commence to use said coffee as
an extremely practical bourbon-delivery-system, and so became somewhat wistful
and sentimental, perusing the board here, that I was quite simply overwhelmed
at the magnitude and import of What We Have Accomplished Here ...

it is messy, sometimes disjointed, often profane and profane, childish & juvenile,
scholarly and philosophically impressive, content-laden & educationally invaluable,
stupid-as-fuck and blinding brilliant .... AND, despite all this (or perhaps because of it)
STILL manages to be a message board full of hateful folks who don't know how to fully interact
with people ... for almost five years now ..... cheers to you all ...
