I haven't used any of the stand-alone programs out there for Windows, so I can't really recommend anything at the moment.

There used to be a few online things around; I'll see if I can find some links....

I'm still reading Sandworms. I've got 12 "chapters" to go and as I am reading it, it gets more and more painful to continue reading.

I've got through so many ridiculous and deux ex machina scenes. the Oracle Norma taking Omnius away but not before having a word with everybody, Paul through will retrieves his own blood to return to life, Erasmus killling all the face dancers in the universe with the flip of a switch, Serena talking through Sheeana to Erasmus the robot, Sheeana inside a Sandworm and the most stupid of them all; the ghola overload and for no reason except being 'there'.

Of course this book was written in a hurry. But honestly we fans could have waited longer for the publication. The ending is not worth the paper it is written on.

I thought the House series was great and the Legends series and Hunters OK, but this is utter garbage and even I can write a better ending.

I guess I'm just repeating what everyone else has already said so here is a question to those who have finished reading it: Is there anything in the next 12 chapters worth getting to?

I'm going to wait for reviews of Paul of Dune to judge weather or not it will be worth the read. But if I hear anything of Erasmus or Norma making appearances in the book, I will not buy the book.

Yes...the world waited (supposedly..."cliffhanger...blah blah blah") twenty years. Pity they, the Herbert Dairies, couldn't wait for someone who can write to come along. (I guess we can write ole Byron off. He's too busy playing nursemaid to the bored and kowtowing to Uncle Kevin to write anything more than reviews and snappy comebacks online. )

Anyway, you really owe it to yourself to finish. (You should always finish what you start. Blah blah blah. Yawn.) And rest assured that we will let you know all about PoD, as soon as we can. Tada.

(I have no idea how those shokyu and dan level things work in martial arts. )

I've just finished reading it, and if you're that close to the end, I would finish it. It's not going to be fun, but you may as well, just so you can form your own opinions about it.

Personally, I don't think I'm going to read PoD or any of the other Heroes novels. I just can't bring myself to read pointless filler that injects more nonsense in-between the actual canon bits of Dune.

Hmm, how do I record my voice? I have earphones with a microphone(as Mandy could attest ), but how and where do I save voice samples?

But not really a Chicagoan accent. True native Chicagoans have a distinct
accent. It's like a watered down version of the Minnesota/northern plains
accent. Think the movie Fargo, but not nearly as severe.

Did you download Audacity yet? Make the recording using your headset mic, then save the file. You can upload it to http://www.savefile.com/ (it's free) and then post the link.

IDK, the headphone and cellular phone's mics both make me sound like that, but I don't hear it that way in my ears. My voice is a bit "softer"(?), maybe "higher" is what I mean.

I can talk like the usual Israeli when using English(a bit like Arabs too) if that's what you mean, but my accent has probably been influenced by movies to much, and I do hate talking that way.
What's up there is my usual accent.

But as far as voice I think machines lower my voice a bit ormake it more...mechanical, ya'know? There's this wealth of sound that's not coming through.

Seriously, who have your teachers been? How many if any were native speakers of American or British English?

People with unexpected accents are always fun. (Novelty...the only proof against boredom!) Like the Japanese girl I once met who'd spent a good many years in New Zealand (where her father's job had taken her family); she had the most enchanting Kiwi accent.
