Actually, Godzilla will be a reboot of a failed reboot. Better?
NO! BECAUSE IF THERE'S ANYTHING I HATE WORSE THAN REMAKES, IT'S THIS WHOLE FUCKING "REBOOT" BULLSHIT. :angry-screaming:

Reboots done right are great, like BSG. Lots of old stories have potential, if only you could remove the 70s or 80s cheeziness from them.

It's exactly because BSG worked so well that every monkey and his mother is trying to find something to reboot.

Monkey see, monkey try to redo.

What do you want to bet that the book publication schedule gets changed around as the movie release date firms up more? ;)

(Called it here! )
That's definitely going to happen. I think their co-producer duties consist, exclusively, of doing things like publishing a book just before the movie gets released. They can turn out a novel in a few days, if they need to, and I think they have. Two monkeys at a dictaphone can turn out the complete works of Brian Herbert and Kevin J. Anderson in plenty of time for a tie-in with the new Dune movie.

I love how uncomfortable Brian looks with that computer in his lap. He looks like he thinks it'll bite him

And Kevin, always being the Alpha Dog in all things having to do with Dune, has the bigger computer. That never fails to amuse me.

Oh, and by the way, Brian's the new Meg, isn't he? (Or maybe not so new, even  )

hey - don't forget the Atlanta Battle that same weekend - and if you dress up kinda rustic,
and walk around the back thru the re-enactors parking, you never have to pay - not that
entrance to these things are ever more than five bucks ...

Are you going to be there?

oh no - too far for just a normal event - I'm making long-range plans for the sesquicentennial stuff -
I plan to make a lot of the national events, if possible - f'instance, have to decide between Gettysburg
and Vicksburg in July 2013 - G'burg is looking to be the biggest re-enactment ever, by a long shot -
Vicksburg of course is much, much closer, but much more depressing ....

still haven't decided on Chickamauga this year, tho - haven't heard back from the unit that had
wanted me to go - and I think that's in September ... better check up on that, time slips up on
an old man, bites him in the ass, he breaks a hip, &etc ...

Tickets for each year go on sale at the preceding *con and remain on sale online until one month before *con and then you can buy at the door.

If KJA signs Dune itself you should turn around and shit on him. Seriously, that seems the appropriate response.

better idea: get Freak to sign a copy of Frank's Dune,
hand it to Keith and say, "I think you might enjoy reading this ..."
