I have been en avid Dune reader for quite some years and have tremendously enjoyed reading the masterpieces by Frank Herbert. I love the books enough for many re-reads over the years and every time I find new wisdoms.

As of yet I haven't tried the new books by Frank's son and that other writer. Perhaps one day I will come to that as well.

Well. Lots of stuff for me to read here so I will stay busy for a while.

perhaps you don't have a static IP from your service provider? he could be blocking it everytime and then your IP changes and you're back in business...

now blocked again. I don't know about the static IP - my ISP is a small local service with excellent tech support - I'll call them and find out, but I'm also wondering if it could be a Vista issue ? The Good Lord knows this Vista does some strange things. But I'm just more inclined to think that Merritt's screwing something up on his end. Not that it really matters, it just puts another step in getting Over There to look for things to ridicule....

Hi Dune Fans,

I work for Macmillan Audio, the publisher of the Dune audiobooks. The cast of narrators are coming together to record "Chapterhouse Dune" this month and my company is interested to know what fans would like to see and hear from them!

This cast of narrators, including Scott Brick, Orlagh Cassidy, Euan Morton, and Simon Vance, have collaborated on all previously released classic Dune titles. You can check out clips from some of the Dune audiobooks here if you like: http://us.macmillan.com/all/editorslist ... /DuneAudio

I'm interested in hearing your thoughts on what kind of material — videos, audio clips, etc. you'd like to see produced. Also, if you have any questions for the cast, we're hoping to put together a list for them to answer for you.

Seriously though, Microsoft needs to abandon the whole Windows operating system. They've been building upon the same source code for nearly 15 years, and it's pathetic. They need to start from the ground-up with some innovative new OS.
