I've grown away from wheat beers, some I still like. A local brewery makes a red wheat beer, same as a normal wheat, but it has some of the grains roasted to a darker colour. Really very nice.

Ha, they posted that over on the mead forum I post at. That company makes me a little upset, because unlike other compnaies that have pioneered super high alcohol beers (26% is the record from another company) this company doesn't ferment up to that ABV, they brew regular beer and then distill it. Fermenting something past 18% is a real feat (the compnay that made the 26% beer had to breed their yeast for alcohol tolerance for over 10 years), but any moron can distill something. These guys are shock value.
