I was wondering, if I don't understand something or it's realy an inconsistence?
Didn't FH wright in Dune, tha space tracel to Arrakis was first travel for Paul? and Duke Leto told him about highliners etc...? But in Paul of Dune, when PAul is twelwe he travel with the parents to Ecaz?
Please, explain this one to me.
edit to add:leagued wrote:So... did Irulan write Dune or Paul of Dune? Or does she have reality-altering powers? I'm guessing she wrote Dune, because its clear to me now that what FH wrote was flawed throughout and clearly inconsistent with the canon Dune being published today.
Nekhrun wrote:According to kja she wrote Dune. I'm guessing he'll say she wrote Messiah and parts of Children as well, I'm guessing he'll say Harq al Ada had something to do with it as well.
I'd like to see him delete this one. It's straight from HLP Grand Puba: kja.SandRider wrote:Another entire thread to be shook off The Dune-Sketch.
{God, I love you people...}

I'll bet you Chigger's anal virginity you will, by tomorrow afternoon.Nekhrun wrote:I'd like to see him delete this one.
Speaking metaphorically (doubly, I suppose) I think Chig gave me his anus a few threads ago.SandRider wrote:I'll bet you Chigger's anal virginity you will, by tomorrow afternoon.Nekhrun wrote:I'd like to see him delete this one.
sorry, no deal. It makes a pleasant sound, what with the chitin on the outside ring knocking against the quarters and a box of tic-tacs in my pocket.SandRider wrote:I think I was talking about the new ones, after the metamorphosis.
You don't have plans for both of them do you ?
Tell you what, let me wager away one, and I'll throw in Simon's literal virginity.
Plus some pics of Mandy.
And a few links to some farm-porn Sloey sent me. (that boy's sick)
Deal ?
{in comedy circles, that's called a "call-back", I think}
You at least used lube right? It's only proper to use lube, more fun for all!Omphalos wrote:Speaking metaphorically (doubly, I suppose) I think Chig gave me his anus a few threads ago.SandRider wrote:I'll bet you Chigger's anal virginity you will, by tomorrow afternoon.Nekhrun wrote:I'd like to see him delete this one.
I'll still give it until this afternoon when Merritt can finally get thru to Kevin andKsander wrote:But this information was written in the main text, not in the epigraphs.
Nekhrun wrote:Ksander wrote:But this information was written in the main text, not in the epigraphs.
Not according to kja. Even the narrative text was written and influenced by Irulan. I don't know how he reconciles that with all of the internal dialogue going on in that book.
leagued wrote:Well, its clear now that anything Frank wrote was an in-universe text that should be attributed to Irulan, Harq al-Ada, Leto II's crystal scribing device, or... uh... Futars. Actually, Futars probably wrote them all, which is why they have so many glaring inconsistencies with the true Dune universe.
RazzBerry wrote:I could have sworn I posted in this thread but now it's gone. I didn't call any one names only went straight to the point and asked if Kevin J. Anderson thinks we are stupid, and if the Admin a relitive to Frank thinks that making Franks books false history is ok. Aparently by his actions he thinks it is. Would it not be better to respond to my post rather than delete it?
Nekhrun wrote:Maybe not futars, but certainly the BG at Chapterhouse. It seems a move to silence any of the critics and is a way for them to simply write whatever they want without having to worry about the inconsistencies we've been talking about for years now. Makes me wonder why they even bothered coming up with their own massive Dune concordance.
RazzBerry wrote:How could they think making Franks books error filled text books would silence the critics? By far this is the worse thing they have done. How could any one stand up and defend this? This is an open question. I would rather some one try and respond, rather than delete my post again.

absolutely insane. why didn't he delete the entire thread ? what is the criteria for deletion now ?Nekhrun wrote:I'll answer the deleted question about why they might be doing this.
There is no reason not to. Fewer critics are reading their books now, I can't even finish this one yet. You will see less and less criticism of them and the fans of them can finally read in peace, not questioning anything.
fiesty !RazzBerry wrote:Why do I keep getting deleted, am I making too much sense? I am not being derogitory to the Author, just making a very valid point.
Won't this new revelation create more critics? It should. Thats why I think it could not be to shut them up. If it was I think it was a very poor way to do it.
Admin, Why do you not repond to what I say? Is it because you have nothing to back yourself with? All you have is a delete button. I have reason. Please show me you have the same.
Timeout - LSU ...Razzberry wrote:The admin must fear what I say as he keeps delteting my posts. The my point has gone unansweared, thefore I must conclude he has no answear. But I will keep posting in hopes that he will deem it worth his while to respond instead of trying to hide the voice of reason.
My challange to Byron is to tell me why he apreciates the fact that according the the Paul of Dune, Franks books are false history. IF you deem it nessesary to delete my post again, you will not be doing it without onlookers, those who will judge you. Show you are not afraid of what I say by responding. It takes me alot of effort to formulate my thoughts and put it on this board. You probably can tell by my sentence structure, and grammar. Surley some one like you has nothing to fear from some one like me. I believe my thoughts have value, please respond instead of hiding behind a delete button.
Hmm...can we use this in another thread here...?Razzberry on DN wrote:It takes me alot of effort to formulate my thoughts and put it on this board. You probably can tell by my sentence structure, and grammar.
Arnie, clearly in relapse wrote:I'm reading a scholarly book about Frank Herbert which may shed some light on this issue. . .So it's up to the reader whether or not she/he wishes to accept any so called "changes.". . . In a monological design the hero is closed, and the limits of the meaning are sharply outlined. Yet Herbert has renounced all of these monological premises. . . Herbert's authorial position, then, is one that refuses to finalize "this complex mixture," as he calls it, or to assume a stance of authority understood in the monological senses that would deny the reader his freedoms in recreating the world of Dune.

2 minutes left in the 4th quarter, Alabama 21, LSU 21 ..... it's down to the wire, folks .....Razzberry wrote:Is it your position that these are not changes? That the text of Frank's work is now viewed as less than cannon, so as to fit the new books?
SEC Overtime, the best kind ....Nekhrun wrote:Got one!Frank Herbert in Dune wrote:
I didn't even draw my knife, but it'll
be said of this day that I slew twenty Sardaukar by my own hand.
If this was really Irulan writing, why didn't she just say that he killed twenty Sardaukar?
