The part where Byron claimed to know you were on his site under an alias. He's not smart enough to work that out for himself.
How can you tell?

Exactly.

Never wrote him back so I have no idea. Banning HIM was one of the few times Byron has recovered long enough from his chronic phalangeal enrectalization to do something right. ;)

Poor Scummypuke. Such a loser that not even being a prequelite was enough to save him on Dunenovels.

I love this episode. :P

I have already find the same: BH & KJA are playing the Joseph Smith with their fans. They are so original that they have to copy a religion that already exist...Aren't you happy only with the Scientology, Mr. Anderson?

What make sick is they act like children when are asked about print those notes: "you all make us cry, now we won't give you the candy".

Great. That's more than fine with me. I've agreed with those of you who have argued that Kevin's
books cloud the discussion of Frank's books, because those elements leak in. I've been confused
by some of the discussions I've read, because you've been arguing about things in Kevin's books,
and I haven't read Kevin's books. So I've been tainted by association - the whole thread on Paul's
Memory Over There is still fucking stuck in my head. And Chig's description of Leto and Jessica
getting it on the jungles of Caladan will stay with me forever. Oh wait. That's not been written yet,
right ? Or has it ?

Anyway, I've got a solution for all this. Stop reading the bullshit. Just stop. If you're reading Paul of
Dune right now, stop it. Just throw it away. And when Jessica of Dune comes out, don't read it.
And for the love of god, don't reread any of Kevins' books. Just keep reading the Four over
and over and over until your mind is cleansed, and you can keep the story straight.

I understand Freak wanted this forum to be a place of fans of both. Perhaps that should be re-thought.
There is a forum for "Fans of Kevin's Books" here - I vote to limit all discussion and even mention of
them to that place. They should be ignored, entirely.

I will, however, of course support the continued ridicule and personal attacks on Kevin, Brian, and my
not so BFF Byron in all threads at all times. In fact, I would encourage it.

Duke's mentioned needing an "ignore" button. I second it.
(You can push my now.)
^^ Well that is pretty much my strategy now. I must admit, I used to kind of enjoy reading their steaming piles of crap and ripping them to shreds. Pointing out all the errors and inconsistancies was rather entertaining. But Hunters and Sandworms was just too much. I refuse to read Paul of dune or any of these others coming out. Its not any fun anymore..

And great point Dukester. I know it eats the preeks up knowing that this crap will never be accepted as canon.

My hope is that OHers from the future will be so incensed by "Retconn of Dune" (in which KJA (no BH) completely rewrites the entire Dune saga in a single novel from the POV of Shadout Mapes - who didn't really die and was a manifestation of Norma) that they (the OHers) travel back in time to 1996 and kill KJA Terminator-style.

That's all we can hope for at this stage.

This won't last for long:
Inkswitch (Joined: 04 Nov 2008 Posts: 1) in a thread called Just finished the prequels......You got to be kidding!! wrote:Cellular transformation? What? The BG don't find that ability usefull? They should have the ancesteral memories of how it is done. Of course, Frank never went that far from the science part of sci/fi. Cellular transformation is the cheapest, most used trick in sci fi. Horrible.

Omnius? My 4 year old could think up a better antagonist. HAL was more menacing in a two hour movie. Simply cr@p. Erasmus is even less interesting. The titans.............bleh. No depth.

These books are an insult. Most obviously a cash grab by Brian and the publishers. I don't buy it for one microsecond that these books were drawn from Frank's outlines. They are completely juvenile and nonsensical.

Am I the only one who thinks this? I struggled through some of the crappiest writing I have ever had to read just to try and catch a glimpse of where Frank was going at the end of Chapterhouse. Nothing to see here. Just somebody banking on their Father's brilliance. I think the "outline" that was supposedly found in a safe deposit box is a load of BS. Thank God I bought these used for cheap. They weren't even worth the $1.00 each I paid for them.

This is the last time I start a series unless it is complete. Publishers did the same thing with Mission Earth when Hubbard died. Tried to pass of cr@p as his work. The same thing will probably happen with the Wheel series, too.

Sigh.
Someone should PM them and invite them over!

post is still up - he started a new thread with it - good - I get to watch
Byron shake his The Dune-Sketch today and Freakban an innocent man.
I guess he probably just assumes that posts like these must be Outcast
sockpuppets - who else could have such an opinion ?

Hope "inkswitch" got the PM or had found one of the Jacurutu links before
Merritt blocks his IP. That'll be a great story, if this guy is an innocent.
"Man, I signed up on the Official Dune Board, wrote I didn't care for the
new books, and now I can't even look at the site."

Merritt, you create your own enemies.

On a brighter note, the lastest 3 new registered users Over There are spambots.

Edit: That post is still up, but Merritt's blocked this IP again since this morning. This is like the fourth or fifth time he's blocked/unblocked. Could this be a software problem ? Or is he blocking and banning so fast and often, he's confused ? How could that happen ? Shake your The Dune-Sketch again, Byron.

It's probably perverse of me, but I get a kick out of reading the reviews of a new-found reader of the noDune stuff. They all come down to the same thing ("This is Dune? Fuck that."), but there's always a new and interesting way to say that.

Poor Inkswitch. Comes the the DN forum to give an honest opinion about noDune, and gets banned on his first post. I guess his question of "Am I the only one who thinks this?" has been answered the hard way.

Thread deleted. Right on cue, Merritt. Dance, Monkey, Dance !!
I'm assuming it's actually deleted, too, as "Inkswitch" only had one
post, now his profile shows 0. Whether he's been banned, Freakbanned,
banned & blocked, or Freakbanned & blocked, we'll discover in due time.

More name-calling, Freak. Sorry.

Byron Merritt, you are an asshole.
You know who I am.
You know where I am.
You know the corner you are in.
You know my demands.
