The only weapons used by the fremen should be knives, worms, and (on one occasion) atomics. Wierding should remain what it was in the book, which is leet-assed fighting moves. This should fit right in with action movies as-of-late.

But yeah, I'm guessing that orald meant the overall story and universe are better then ST or SW.

Even Frank himself took a stab at Star Wars in Heretics of Dune...
He was going on about dependancies, keylogs, and PO's. And how sometimes there would be a 3-PO which is basically a cheap copy of a PO... or something like that. The point is, he called out Star Wars for what it is: A cheap copy.

I think it was just a metal sword/baton that emitted some kind of EMP when it struck an object. Lazswords have yet to apear, though it's really just a matter of time.

Yeah, that nimnull Sean has woven himself a web of friends who are all GIANT SPIDERS LOOK OUT AAAAAAAAAAGH! posted the original in a comment over on Kevin's MySpace page. Evidently he took it with them at the signing in Miramar(sp?). He's standing between them but I just moved Brian over and covered him and smudge-fudged some of the background. Sean was wearing camouflage gear and you can see some of it and his arm to the left of Brian.

Sloppy, but I liked the slightly spooky shinrei-shashin aspect.
