works like a charm

It's effin cold here but we still don't have any snow. It's the weirdest thing. It snowed on the weekend before Halloween then it turned to autumn again and we've been having the mildest December that anyone can remember. It's just not right. I want to go sledding dammit!!

I think there have been bits of snow here and there but never while I'm around, which is the way I prefer it.
A Thing of Eternity wrote:It's really nice up here, just barely below 0 even at 1 in the morning right now. Calgary has these crazy wind systems that come in a few/many times a winter from the mountains called chinooks that warm everything way way up. Winter here is childs play.
Really? I'd always thought Canada was ridiculously cold, but maybe I can put Calgary back on the list of places I'm willing to travel to...

Nope, just certain places certain times of year... and by "certain" I mean "most"!

Vancouver just gets rainy in the winter, kinda cold, freezes sometimes - Victoria is an amazing micro climate that just has even more flowers all winter. Calgary is kind of a freak place for winter with short runs of medium cold, then barely cold, then really cold, then medium, fairly warm.

Our summers are pretty hot as well, usually only between 15 and 25 degrees, but it gets up to properly scorching sometimes.

One room of my house burns under a bright near-equatorial sun, while another is permanently cool. And I live in an apartment!

Over here it's the same as the entire year ... to warm, to cold, to wet or to dry. Not one single month has been close to its normal range this year.

Pushing eighteen inches now. A buddy posted a pic with a measuring stick showing two feet of accumulation.
