I still say steal it - y'all have fallen so deep into the capitalist-consumerist ideals the robber-barons
have instilled into this society, you can't see reason ...

they say market value equals what the market is willing to pay,
but the flaw there is that the market is full of idiots with poor
judgment and more money than sense ... I believe it is a human
duty to readjust the market into more reasonable limits from
time to time - removing the offending article from the market,
or the idiots who jack up prices ...

$15,000 US American Federal dollars for a Hello Kitty handbag is the sign of the Apocalypse ...

Whatever. Chattel is chattel and money is money. Sometimes its a repudiation of the "capitalist-consumerist ideal" that gets one to the point of deciding that money is less important than property and not so much an ingrained impulsive emotional decision. Though I will freely admit that if the idiots were gone (pipe dream, BTW) things would be a bit more reasonable, and fuck if Im gonna pay that either.

We may have more in common than I thought, SR. I make a lot of decisions with this in mind too.

What makes it McDune other than the bull being too alien looking?

The jackasses running around the ring on the sides. What the fuck are they doing anyway?

Maybe if the bull wasn't so reptilian it wouldn't be so McDunish... Though I question why (presumably) Paul's grandfather would use rodeo clowns.

I should clarify...

It's like Youll's "Waterworms" cover painting for Sadworms: I liked it as a painting, as a science fiction illustration. (I generally & genuinely do like his stuff. I even liked the "Jessica & Alia in the souk" painting.) But it was wrong as a depiction of something in the Duniverse.

I haven't had a chance yet this morning to actually search through the books for the passages on the bull that killed the Old Duke, but I kinda doubt it was big and greenish.

As a painting/illustration, it's cool. But is it Dune? I'll get back to y'all. ;)
