Um...I take it SandRider saw where Byron has posted in the supposedly deleted NYT ranking thread.

Funny...but I didn't see it when I looked for it, either. But neither did I do a thorough search for it. I don't know of anyway to restore a thread that has been completely deleted on this boardware.

Anyway, I've appropriately struck out parts of my blog post on it. Doesn't change the fact that Byron believes what he believes. Or that censorship is run amok on that site.

Or that Paul of Dune is a pile of shit.

(Oh yeah: he's jumped on the more-or-less-glowing Publishers Weekly review of the audio book of PoD. As expected.)

do not list the book in the top 35.

As this is the Official Dune Website, I will post this question to the HLP: With the rapid
drop-off in sales and no major postive reviews of the book, will Paul of Dune now
be considered a commercial and critical failure, and will the HLP reconsider the future
of the franchise ?
Seriously ... did this whole thread just get deleted?!?!

I'm not seeing it anywhere.

Is Byron really that big of a pussy?

Noticed him there when I logged out a few minutes ago. When I hit refresh (after doing the screen shot), he was gone.

Whatever could he have wanted? Maybe come to read a PM? Or maybe looking for a nice frosty one? ;)

You can hide stuff away, like Omph did to the whole mythology forum on his board, so if Byron has a hidden forum on the board over there he could have moved the thread into it and then moved it back out. I've never done that on any of the boards I've managed since I just export a copy of the old stuff from the database and delete it all at the end of a semester, etc.

If you've really deleted something and haven't exported the data in some form, yeah, it would be pretty nigh impossible to restore it. And the original posts are showing late September post times and they seem to be numbered properly (the post ID number is much smaller than newer posts on the board). I would really find it hard to believe that it had been deleted.

On the other hand, I find it equally hard to believe that we all missed seeing it if it was still there. The OP was September 28, so it wouldn't have sunk much below halfway down the list of topics. (As they are now. The other day it would have been higher, I should think.)

Unless we collectively "hyppmotized" ourselves into NOT seeing it in our glee and zeal to label Byron a craven wanker-deleter (which I still think he is, anyway), I'd say he hid it and has now brought it back out because of the negative response or—and let's let fly the paranoia here—to make us look bad (for falsely accusing him of deleting it).

He probably has a hidden thread over there. The one on T(A)U is not the mythology thread. that stuff got moved to the Archives and Other Dead Things forum which is still visible to all. Its the other one, Double Secret Probabation Forum, which prying eyes cannot see (members only). Plus I have another one over there that only I can see. Mua-Ha-Ha-Ha!

they told me not to take the loritab and drink. and for a day or two,
I didn't. I was Over There and got to looking thru shithead's dvd
reviews and it hit me hard. I remember thinking, I'm just going
to send chigger a PM and go to bed. it looks like I got confused
as to what reply box I was typing in. I clearly remember seeing
the post after I hit "submit" and thinking, shit that ain't right.

then I saw chig's post about the moved NYT thread; after that,
it's all a blur.

but obviously, cockbreath hid away the NYT thread - then came
over here, as chig documented, saw that I had posted the whole
thing, moved it back out and started the Cover Up.

after this, I don't think I care anymore.
(I was a friend of the nuduneman, thrice banned)

I'd also like to apologize to any homosexuals we may have on
this board for my use of the word "cockbreath". It is an unfortunate
word often used by cranky old men, and in no way indicates my
condemnation of you, your chosen and/or born-that-way lifestyle
and sexual orientation, or hobbies.

May the God of Your Choice Bless and Keep You.

At a recent block party I tried to get my dad to sing karaoke to this. My $10 apparently wasn't enough to persuade him.
