Ah, nice one, Nekhrun. I had this movie in mind when I posted; didn't realize you'd quoted it directly. The outtakes at the end were just hilarious.Nekhrun wrote: I like to picture Duncan as a figure skater. He wears like a white outfit, and he does interpretive ice dances of my life's journey.
Yes, simply brilliant. Almost as astounding as that guy on Twitter who was suggesting to Chris Pine that he play Paul.HarryCanyon wrote:But you gotta admit i had a good casting idea for duncan in a potential new Dune movie.

Actually, I'd like to see this guy in some role:
He's a fantastic up-and-coming actor! Recognize him?

I blame the 2000/2003 Syfy miniseries for that....casting a relatively light-haired actor ruined modern perception of what Paul and Duke Leto are supposed to look like. Yes, Paul's part Harkonnen....but it doesn't need to be so obvious in his appearance (somewhat reddish hair). Having his father be downright blond, simply because they got a remotely famous actor to take the part, was just lame. I thought William Hurt did a passable job as the Duke, but only that. A more suitable actor of his caliber could have really nailed it.SandChigger wrote:Yes, simply brilliant. Okay, where does everyone keep getting the idea that the Harkonnens were gingers? Besides the movie and mini-series... Where in Dune does it say that the Baron, Feyd, or Rabban have red hair? If I recall correctly, it was the Corrinos that had the red hair, or at least Shaddam did. Seriously, someone please tell me if I'm wrong on this.Shaitan wrote:Yes, Paul's part Harkonnen....but it doesn't need to be so obvious in his appearance (somewhat reddish hair).
Really? Isn't Jason Statham generally considered to be good-looking in a kind of rugged way? That doesn't exactly scream "ugly lump of a man" to me. My vote still goes toward John C. Rielly for Gurney. I loved his work as a character actor way before he ever got into all these comedy movies.Toledo666 wrote:there's NO ONE in the world that I can see as Gurney other than Jason Statham. NO ONE.
I also picture SandRider in assless chaps, except he's got a pistol in both hands,Toledo666 wrote:That's HILARIOUS, Mandy! ... Now, ... when I "picture" Duncan, and I'm not sure exactly why, maybe it's his "cave-sitter eyes", I see Hayden Christensen. In the years before that, I always pictured him as a young Russell Crowe. And now? there's NO ONE in the world that I can see as Gurney other than Jason Statham. NO ONE. It refuses to leave my head. Now him I'd love to see in assless chaps (I don't want to see him in a stetson, though. I really adore a bald man. Especially him. Jessica stared at her son, seeing the oval shape of face so like her own.Drunken Idaho wrote:Okay, where does everyone keep getting the idea that the Harkonnens were gingers?
