Yeah, that's how I got the wrong idea, too lazy to pay attention to detail. Still pretty funny.

We have Hellhole cover sign on Amazon UK!

Image

Can't really tell what it is yet, and the resolution is too poor to enlarge much.

Brian's name is first, so they're not going alphabetically. And I can't tell if there's any reference to Dune in that subtitle line.

(I checked the Simon & Schuster website and they don't have the cover on the book pages on their site yet. Amazon US still just has the Kindle page.)

Sweet! A lightning planet, a fire planet and an ice planet. I wonder if the inhabitants of those worlds will experience any conflict due to cultural differences. Maybe they can agree that all of their planets are hellholes and the book will be a short one.

I've heard they're doing a special scratch-n-sniff cover - it'll smell like an odious uber-fart - just like one of its authors.

Awesome! Maybe if they add the forest moon of Endor and the swamps of Dagobah, it'll look like a big game of Magic: The Gathering.

I LOVE that they put BH's name first, so that the book will get filed right next to Dune on the bookstore shelves, rather somewhere that people would actually have to be looking for KJA to find it.

Leaches.

That's what I figured.

Although, just for the sake of discussion, it's been SOP for at least 20 or 25 years now for TheJacket to be listed second when he collaborates. That's where the old joke comes from that he should change his name to "& Kevin J. Anderson."

That's pretty much how he got his start in the industry: he'd work with others and he didn't mind being listed second.

That being said, I don't disagree with the above. I think they definitely want this series to be filed near "Frank Herbert." Also, I think the U.S. edition will have a bright-yellow starburst that says: "By the authors of DUNE!"

And:

a leech
a leach

I didn't know the second one existed but it still fits the description.

I'm sure you've heard the second one and just forgot about it, it's pretty common in speach.

Of course, I meant to type the first, not the second!
