As for the spelling: It came from Wikipedia. I simply brought the info gathered to DN. It's a feature called "cut & paste", perhaps you've heard of it? You see, unlike yourself, I have more important things to concern myself with then acting as a spell checker to everything and everyone I see online.
First of all, I think you'd be the last person to throw around the term "racist" considering some of the ignorant positions that you hold/once held and voiced on DN. Also, I don't have to spell check anything because of an add-on to Firefox that just underlines misspelled words. It takes all of zero seconds. It won't catch you're grammatical mistakes though

Omph suggested a "History of the OH" book over at T(A)U, and it's got
my wheels turning. I started the "For the Record" thread as a respository
of the types of things the "future OH historian" should consider.

I don't think I'll be alive by the time some of this is resolved. A definitive
answer about the notes, whether or not the HLP will repudiate KJA and the
new books, how future literary historians will judge the new books and what
they will say abou this sad chapter of Dune history.

but I'd say you'll definitely be mentioned, luv, esp. if there is an OH Fan
Fiction section - Trannies of Dune will be immortalized ...

I think pointing out my errors as a writer are pointless. I've never claimed to be a good writer, only enthusiastic. As I've said before, I spent a great portion of my time in school raising hell and drawing pictures. If it shows, then so be it. I've lived my life with few regrets and will continue to do so. If proper grammar was the trade for my other far more unique skills, again, so be it.

As for "my views" expressed on DN: I've never said a racist thing in a post ever. I challenge you to find such a post.

Now if your referring to my bigot like remarks in my discussion with CL last summer. You'd be correct in so far as my saying some ignorant stupid shyte. I was waaay fucking out of order. CL called me on it and was right. I was acting like a bigot and was to stupid to even see it. I was more ashamed of myself than words can describe. And every day since that revelation has been lived with the knowledge of that terrible deep seated personal flaw. I hate it. And I hate myself for proliferating such ignorant attitudes for all my life until that afternoon. At this point the best I can do is try and make it right.

I never said you said anything racist. What you described was what I was talking about.

I just don't get the whole, "Who gives a shit" attitude toward spelling and grammar. I see it as disrespectful and lazy. It doesn't take any more time to be careful with language than it does to be sloppy with it.

Willingly misspelling is most certainly disrespectful. It forces other people to do the work of the person who misspelled, mentally correcting errors and spending additional time trying to decipher what's written.

Exactly.

Obviously, since you have no intention of even trying to improve.

(And the verb should be "is": pointing out your errors IS pointless. )

QFT.

And I'll add that I loathe the whole culture of "Itz teh internetz, so it dont matter how I talks" that's out there in my face every day.

Really? Do you RALLY think so?! :D You don't know how much that means to me. And to InnerGothGirl! ;)

Omph ... hmmm. Do you think I really care what idiots like Simon or that bottom-of-the-Net-barrel riffraff over on Dumbass Novels fear or think of me? ;)

It's not that I don't give a shit, look at my post on DN from my original Sandworms review on, if I claimed to not have made attempts to make my post more readable I'd be lying. Right from the get go Omph was all "Hey, paragraphs will make your post more readable...", which I adopted immediately. I'm all about self improvement. That's why I have the FireFox spell check, it only tells me I've misspelled, rather than give me a pop-up answer it forces me to figure it out the spelling myself (or in worst case scenario look it up in the dictionary).

I just don't see the point in rubbing my face in it with every other post. It's not like I'm the worst speller in the Dune fan community. Never the less, I say something that certain people don't like and it's time to crack on my spelling, it's like clockwork.

(from edit:) As for grammar... RUN! SAVE YOURSELF! I'm hopeless.

I didn't include the sarek emoticon.

(Hey, but at least you managed to spell "Baby Jesus" right! Whoohoo! Maybe He'll have Santa bring you something from your Xmas wish list over on DN! :D )

right clicking on an underlined word in firefox will give you a lilst of suggestions, and allow you to add words that you know are spelled correctly to the firefox spell checker.
