Trouble is, I couldn't figure out what way would be the worst!

Well, we've got a
completely unbiased report on the first day...
GrammarGirl: Finished the first day of a fabulous conference w/ @RebeccaMoesta, @TheKJA, @BrandonSandrson & others. All really nice, smart people

Ugh.
I should have intercepted her at the airport. Seriously: KJA "smart"? The same guy who has fuel-powered ships moving at FTL speeds?

Turns out actress Claudia Christian, who played Susan Ivanova in
Babylon 5, is one of the attendees. She's blogged about it here:

Fetching pic with Rebecca.
No mention of how many attendees there are, though.

answers the question of attendee-demographics, anyway ...
wanna-be writer actresses on 3rd rate Tee-Vee shows
with more disposable income than reality perception ....
shallow hollywood types who would read Keith and see it as a made-for-SyFy movie ...
which doesn't take much imagination ....

I've been watching B5 on Hulu and really enjoying it...but now every time she's on screen I'll be reminded of the Supperstars event. Dammit.

Just been re-reading the initial sales pitch for this (non)event and couldn't help but notice the size of each author's bio
Eric Flint - 83 words
Rebecca Moesta - 86 words
David Farland - 150 words
Brandon Sanderson - 101 words
Kevin J. Anderson - 319 words
Yep, once again the APF KJA can't help but mention every fucking thing he's ever written...every bloody award he's won or been nominated for...every piece of self-promotional crap that he churns out ad nauseum. Does the man's ego know no bounds? Stupid bloody question...
An anagram of Kevin J Anderson is 'knave joins nerd' - how very apt.

I just skimmed for anything about the attendance the first time through, so I overlooked this:
the times I was fidgety was because of the sound problems, I couldn't hear 2 of the 45 minute discussions but hopefully they will fix that for tomorrow
People paid a grand a head for this thing (supposedly: with all the discounts & special offers, who knows what people really paid!) and
they had sound problems for an hour and a half on the first day?
I take it she didn't pay extra for the front-row VIP seating, then.

What is it with Keith and Becky and their obsession with
ass-to-ass poses?
The awkwardness of that picture above is rivaled only be the sequence of Keith and Bobo's ass-to-ass shots, including the one where they look lovingly at one another ...
Memo for Mr. and Mrs. Hack: it's
not a natural pose. It's awkward. It makes viewers uncomfortable.
Stop doing it.

Actually, Dukester, when it's Anderson & Moesta, it's a
completely natural pose.
How else would you stand when you've no idea which direction the next attack is coming from?

Right, this from Kevin "As if getting the idea is the hard part" Anderson.

Well those tables and chairs in the pic were either used by OCD's or no one. The room looks like its at least half empty of even table space. I'd say maybe 4-5 rows of tables just so that the two empty rows don't look that depressing. Nice placement of the refreshment table to pretend that space is being fully used.

I've been watching Twitter for posts mentioning the seminar for the last few days (and thanking TheKJA & Jabecca & Sanderson — the only three on there, that I know of — now that it's over) and have only managed to compile a list of seven people who attended ... and two of those are GrammarGirl & Christian. Looks like the majority of them aren't Tweeter crack-hoors.

I'll bet that getting a Twitter account was one of the "secret pearls of success" that Kevvie bestowed upon his thronging crowds, so it might be useful to watch for a few more days.
Anyway, It'd be kinda funny if after all that work Kevvie only made $4K or so. <snicker!> Makes me wonder how much that convention center room cost. Ive arranged legal seminars in hotels for less than ten people before, and the room, snacks and food cost me over $2K.

So is the tall bird with the Croydon facelift the guest of honour, or did the poor cow pay for the privilege of not hearing anything for 90 minutes? Hmm, wonder if that counts as a good reason for getting one of those 'I'm not entirely satsified' money back guarantees?
