We could, but would it really matter to a determined troll? No, they'd just ignore the thread. Besides, there's only so many times one can post a link to that thread before even the veterans are bored of repeating themselves.

Although, such a "listing thread" can't hurt for the few brave and honest preqs who actually would like to debate....but like ROUS, I don't think they exist  :P

I think the simplest thing to do is just not worry about the fuckers.

It had been quite some time since the last. I felt it prudent :)

Is there a general webmaster@jacurutu.com email address we can give people? I don't want to give out anyone's real addresses. Also haven't asked the user name he registered under.

Yep, did that before I fell asleep again. :P

It's in the "What will the next Dune series be about?" thread on the Jessica's Stinky Wind page. :)
The user name is pretty much the same I'm using here, except all lower case and one word. As for contacting the board administrator, I tried to login (knowing full well it would be a useless gesture) and I was taken to a page that said I hadn't activated my account and needed to contact a board administrator. I clicked board administrator (I don't recall where) and my e-mail program opened automatically with an e-mail address already in there.
Thanks for the address, Omph. I'll pass it along.

If he were an obvious pretard I'd just be ignoring him. ;)

I'd have to go back through and see whether he's said he enjoyed any of the books at all, at any time. :?:

gonna bring up the forum re-ordering issue again -

the Dune Discussion section has dead boards -
compile & compress ?

Ghafla is too broad - addition of Politics helped greatly.

Seconded.

Dune Discussion has 13 sub-forums, many of which don't see a lot of action. Somewhere around half that number would seem more appropriate.

(And, yes, the Politics sub-forum was a great idea; a cookie for whoever made it happen)

I've been thinking we need a "KJA Hate" forum of some type -

KJA-hatin' gets posted in Ghafla, I suppose because people think
it doesn't belong in the Prequel/Sequel forum.

I'm not suggesting Freak gets all anal & moves current posts
from their forums, but I think a new (modified) structure is needed,
from this point on.

I'm seeing four major sections : Dune & Frank,
Hating on Keith & the new Books, Freak's Reading Group,
and a more catagorized Ghafla - this board has moved
into a more general discussion site than just Dune ....
Ghafla now has almost 17,000 posts ....

That was my baby. I'm glad y'all like it. :D

I have been wanting to trim down the number of forums, just been busy. I promise I'll get to it soon.

It's kind of unfortunate that a lot of us know each other from other forums and we have hashed out many, many Dune topics already.

This is why we need preeks.

I'll work on it soon.

That's why I get pissed off when people drive the preeks/newbies away - what the hell are we going to talk about without them?

The GP sure is invincible.

Yup.

You said it.

That's what our posts would be reduced to if we didn't have newer people asking questions and posting ideas (which yes, are sometimes stupid - but that's no reason to scare them away). I'd love to have more Dune conversations, but the overall hostility needs to go down, or people are scared to post here.

I agree with you Thing, the hate was entertaining for awhile but it's getting old (same shit, different preek). I think a "no holds barred" type forum would be a good idea. All the nasty fighting in one forum and anyone who doesn't like that sort of thing can just ignore it.

I'm confused: where are all these pro-McDune newcomers who have been "driven away"?

I certainly don't read every post here, but I do read most of the Prequels/Sequels sub-thread, which is where I'd expect these conversations to take place. And I can only think of two prominent McDune defenders to appear there over the last six months or so: Simon (posted just the other day) and Conway, who appears to be taking a break. And we had someone sign up just the other day, who appears to be doing quite nicely, so I guess that's three.

But I'm not seeing hordes of preeks signing up and then being "driven away." That's not the internet I'm looking at. They have to sign up first, and that just doesn't seem to be happening, regardless of anyone's desire to debate with them.
