Carl, in a topic for the New Movie wrote:The movie version must podrtray a real representation of the future human. Remember, thousands of years from now humans will be faster, thinner, and the HM and BG should have terrifying prescence at opposites. Murbella will be a hard choice for actresses and Odrade needs to be a skilled, award winning actress. This story needs mega production money to create a completly futruristic world and focus on the internalized thoughts and feelings in a completely new and creative way. It needs to be a real classic. It needs to have the feel the Matrix gave us. Sheer speed, fast killing, new breed of human, etc. The scenes need to be on real locations (similar to Jesus Christ Superstar) not in some cheesy Hollywood set. They need actors who can do the job and a writer that can't lose focus of the integrity of such a story.

It can't be done by a has-been. It must be done by the most creative, intellectual writers that can be found. Don't dissapoint us.
Chig, this is you, right ?

Of course thinner. As we all know, adaptations that have had a fat Baron are merely taking artistic liberties designed to take a jab at our preconceived notions of what the "future man" will be.

I agree, it's really important who they pick to play the HM in Dune

I also think they'll pay particular attention to Norma's role.

I was wondering when I read that WTF they were talking about HMs for in regards to Berg.

Please don't confuse the guy.

Oh, fuck. Another one of those "web designers" that never looks at what he has done. The VERY CLEVER use of RED WHITE AND BLUE font over a repeating US flag background...MY GAWD, IT'S REVOLUTIONARY!!!

The "face of oppression" sculpture image is too purple. Might work better with more pink?! :P

(The handcuffs and the flag got me hot and bothered, but the blue balance (of justice?) is what soiled me panties. ;) )

That is the single ugliest web page I've ever seen.

all his buttons point to the ACLU site, but the one at the bottom of the
"quote of the day" points to dunenovels.com, which is what made
me think it was Arnie in drag ....

Sorry. I didn't mean for that to happen. I've looked at that page a few times and nothing happened. I just thought it looked pretty shitty.

IE7 dealt with the page okay, but it took a full five minutes over dial-up to load.

It's myspace. Almost every myspace page nearly crashes my browser. They are awful sites to visit, overburdened with bad code, audio and tons of lousy pictures in the most disorderly format imaginable.

Visiting a myspace webpage is the digital equivalent of your toilet overflowing.

"Oh, that was quite a good line" :)

Literally...

Luckily it didn't matter that the toilets were clogged because he just turned it into another chapter for a Dune book.

I noticed yesterday that he had posted that on MySpace; just been waiting for it to show up on Dumb Novels.

"to send to Brian Herbert"

Why does he include the last name there? Who the hell does he think we would think the "Brian" he's sending a manuscript to is if he left it out? (Sure, it's the first mention of The Other Guy in the piece, but fucking background context, huh? SAME FUCKING PROBLEM AS IN THE BOOKS! HE ASSUMES NO ONE REMEMBERS ANYTHING! )

Well, Uncle Mike has gotten it up over on Dune Novels, so time for fun....

I swear, KJA writes those idiotic passages just to entertain me. They are a non-stop, never-fail reminder of just what an engorged penis he really is.

Seriously, how many times does Kevvie mention either of the following:

1. How expensive everything is (cheap bastard);

2. How much everything sucks (cranky old man).

The douchebag is on a cruise and all he does is complain! :)

You know, Kevin has not posted a single log where he is happy, and when ever you see video of him he shows little enthusiasm. He can't write, doesn't get the recognition he craves, and all he does is bitch about how hard is "work" which he supposedly loves. He's a failed bureaucrat, petty, arrogant, and small minded.

Kinda obvious Kevvy isn't a people-person, no?

If the people are brown and insistent and not adoring fans, clamoring for his money instead of his autograph. ;)

Here's something I didn't really think too much about until now, because it describes a somewhat normal interaction that most people take for granted these days...until you remember that the people involved aren't normal in this way:
During the at-sea days (and the weeks before the trip) I had been hurrying to finish the main edit of JESSICA OF DUNE to send to Brian Herbert, who was waiting for his turn on the polishing. On Aruba afternoon (Wednesday the 19th) I was finally able to upload the third-draft manuscript to Brian.
Um...send it how? Upload it where?

I thought Brian didn't have an Internet connection. Isn't supposed to even use email. Something about "philosophical reservations".

Huh...I guess that's just another lie, too?

Clearly KJA emails it to Kim, who uploads it to the HLP server where it is accessed by Mrs. Brian Herbert, who then downloads the document onto her computer and prints it out on an ink-jet printer and leaves the print-out by Brian's typewriter. Clearly. :D
