Wow, that's pretty pathetic... Byron removes ALL links to jacurutu, which is retarded enough, but to remove a sig with a quote from Chig? What a pussy.Tleszer wrote:It's not necessary, but it may make you one of the "OH Elite."Arrrmanda wrote:I believe I need to go get banned from this DN place.
I remember that Myron removed a link to Jacurutu once, which in itself is idiotic, but I also had Myron remove my sig because I quoted Chig talking 'bout my blue skin and green tushie.![]()

I hold the distinction of having been banned twice.

Just wait till he hears about how she's been slagging off the new Dumb Novels site design over on C-H Tabr. I hear she's really been ripping it a new bung hole.Schu wrote:Apparently, even Byron's love slave Hypatia is getting some of her posts deleted these days.

Pfft, the design of the main page is the best thing that site has going for it. For the first time, DN looks like it might be an official website for something important.

Which reminds me... Can we *please* make the default colour scheme for this forum the orangy-tan "610nm" one? I feel like I'm walking into a hospital everytime I sign in, with that stark blue-and-white that is soo non-Dune. Hey, I just figured since DungNovels is stepping their game up, we ought to at least look the part as well. We already use the classic font, which is also pretty elite of us. Freak? Omph? Fromph?

I've asked over and over for someone to help me with this, I don't know anything about web page design and even if I did I don't have the time right now.

Changing the board default theme should be relatively easy, in the admin config area.
But wasn't there some reason for not doing that, that Ragabash posted about? (Maybe whatever it was has been fixed? Omph?)
Edit: Purely a matter of personal taste, but I think the new Dumb Novels look is perfect.
A perfect reflection of the current emphasis by the HLP on form and flash over real content.
Uncle Mike's old design was shit. But instead of fixing it, they went out and found some hired guns (inCypids or something like that?) who just baroque it further!
And from what I've seen posted thus far, Byron seems to be just talking about a new theme for the BBS, not an actual upgrade to the next version of the boardware, like we've had. Of course, he could just be screwing up the details as usual. (But if Uncle Mike is still the webmaster....)

I don't know, I like the sanitized look of subsilver for the default. Maybe I'll make a poll.
(It blends in nicely with MS Outlook on my desktop at work
)
What I need help with is a custom Dune theme with liberal use of the OH font.

Haha, it's all clear now! But yeah, we can poll it up.
And hey, I'm sure we can still make it so that you can customize it to your own taste. I'm just talking about what the default ought to be.

Please please please don't ever make the default anything remotely like Arrakeen was. I was almost put off by that enough not to join, it was so hard to read.

Default skins and mofifications of existing ones can be done on this forum. we can also change the default. I think we elected onto to make 610nm here because that skin is missing the "Mark all forums as read" link, and it has not been updated or fixed yet.
If someone wants to take a crack at creating a custom skin, Ill be happy to take a look. But it takes an artful hand to do it right, so unless it looks great, probably not gonna be accepted. That is not because I dont want to give you guys all your own skins to use: Its because every time we make certain changes to the board we also have to update every skin in the db. Taht gets to be a PITA when you have 15 skins, as we formerly did here.
As for your own default selections, you do not have to log off here every time you leave; just go away signed in and when you come back your personal default selections will appear.

I used to make custom skins for a old phpbb2 board I ran, but I don't really like the way things are organized in phpbb3, so I've gotten lazy and stuck with the default style. Man, even my desktop is the default Windows 7 theme and wallpaper.

Back on topic ... which was stupid posts by Byradmin!
In thread "ALL THINGS DUNE » Duncan Idaho- fifty thousand years later" (another turdic gem sprung from the frothing intracranial sewer of Anusunder [Onasander]):

Right, ByrByr. Good ByrByr! Thar's a good dog.
Can't remember his own grandfather's birthday but he sure can maKe allusions to his non-Dune works, huh?
However imbecilic and inappropriate.

Maybe at some point Duncan will go on and evolve to another level of consciousness and simply won't care about the material universe anymore ?

That's not even really true. Ship leaving was not because he didn't care about the material universe or whatever, it was actually the most important part of his plan for humanity. Ship is better compared with Leto II than Duncan.

Byron has already proven time and time again, not only that he doesnt understand his grandfather's work, but blatantly lies about it.
Like that time when he said that after Dune, Frank started wondering what happened to the fremen and therefore wrote Dune Messiah.

So this brings up the ye old "Byron, shut the fuck up!" phrase.

Is it really that quiet over there? I suppose it's difficult for Hyppo to see the keyboard to type whilst she's got her dirty tongue up Byron's bum.
