Come back?

*edit* yes, share "martian bob" too. plz.
Yep.

Martian Bob was a guy who wouldn't shut the fuck up about some project about naming landscape features on Mars after Dune related things. He also didn't shut the fuck up period for awhile, and then he did or died. I miss his crazy alien posts.

Martian Bob was also known for getting himself in a tizzy about one thing or another, disappearing thereafter, and then reappearing several weeks later complaining about his health and how he was one-step from death's door. He also had this wacky website (the Truth Connection, or something like that). It went into his tin-foil-hat theoreis, and explained how he got fired from his community college teaching job for asking his computer sciences 101 students to write reports on whether or not they thought Martians existed. I remember one girl wrote a poem complaining that if she didn't write the pointless poem she would flunk. :D

I don't bother keeping that URL, but IIRC it was either in the section where he described why he got fired, or in a separate section with portions of his kid's papers. If you have the URL Ill take a look for it. Probably hasn't changed since I was last there (and last time I went I think he was starting to experiment with that java applets or something archaic like that).

Rumors of his demise are, again, premature: sorry to disappoint, but "Bonzo for Barsoom" Bob is still with us:

Edit: I just noticed the "#nwo" at the end of his Twit.

Holy shishi, did he really tweet that? Now it looks like I've got some stuff to catch up on.

People who make their Twitter posts absolutely unreadable make me laugh.

(Quick primer for non-Twatters: all of Wingnut Bob's words in that post will show up as an annoying light blue. Okay for one or two words; not okay for all of them.)

Holy shishi, he does that for all of his tweets. What a jackass.

I see he's still quoting Dune. He wrote some bullshit post about 9/11 and is just as crazy as ever. The post didn't have auto linking, but it's on the main page still of his blogspot page.

I looked at some of his class resources too and they are shit.

Ah, nice custom background there, Wingnut Bob ...

Change "light blue" to "red" in above statement. Same sentiment, though.

I am officially "cast out." I kinda knew it would happen. I didn't provoke it. But by the laws, it was fate.

A thing was said. I responded. I was banned. I have reset my IP several times... still can't see what has changed...

On my water I said nothing that could not be openly stated in a court of law.

I want to be offended, but, I'm just... not.

It was so unsettling wasn't it, to find out what a hoax it had been - but even more frightening was the fact that Herbert's family has deluded themselves (or at least claim to have the best intentions) that they are keeping Frank' alive.
Frank is alive in the pages of his own work and he always will be. He will never be alive in the way they see it - which is abusing his work, ripping it out of his own artistic choices, and throwing it up in the book market air to compete with the likes of George Lucas and other scifi franchises.

I like you already.

just "aeon" with "there" in betwixt: aethereon. (to chig)

"I presume the new novel will be written by the ghola of Frank Herbert himself.... it will be a nonfictional parody of the original Frank's life's work... the ghola author will admit wishes that his host was a genetic eunuch, and present the reader with a truly worshipful god of the machines... This would be the only time in my life that I would fully support tampering with the space-time continuum... (deus-ex machina) for the cognitively impotent..."

that sealed the deal.

OK, I figured you were "aeon" but just wanted to check. ;)

I didn't see that post the other day; will check again. He's probably deleted it, though, the gormless pusspuss.
