Intro to Me

Post by Quagmire »

Hi everyone,

For some reason, I googled "They denied us the Hajj". This sight came up with a link to Sandchiggers thread on this subject.

I'm a bit of a nut when it comes to Dune, and so I immediately signed up for this sight. I've been thinking of re-reading the series again just because, and now I have a reason to do so. All I can say is wow. I'm blown away that there is a site like this. I'm not surprised mind you. I just never thought of it.

Me - Midwestern US. Married, kids, long drive to work, going to school currently, and into computers. That's me in a nutshell.

No, Quagmire is not from Family guy - so you can hold your giggity-goos. In fact, I don't watch family guy. They name does have meaning though, and is an insite into me. A quagmire is an area of boggy ground or a situation from which extrication is very difficult. Guess which applys to me.

So I'm going to enjoy this little get-away sight. I first read Dune over 20 years ago, and immediately fell in love with it. After finishing the whole series, I immediately read it again, and then a third time. Since then I've read the whole series of books over a dozen times. It's been about 4 years since I last read them. But this September, when I finish school certifications, guess what I'm doing....

Whoever put this sight together, thank you. :D

If you do, please follow along in the Reading Group and comment on my summaries of the chapters as you go.

Should we feel sorry for Mrs. Quagmire then? :)

So you live in a swamp then? That must be a reference to Washington DC, and that makes me and you homies.

Just kidding. I have no idea what either one of us is talking about.

But he said Midwest...so perhaps it just a state of mind, in that case he's normal

Well anyhow. Welcome fellow Dune lover. Glad you found your way hear. Hope your shots are up to date and remember to keep your hands and feet to yourself. Some of our members have a tendancy to bite. But don't worry; they're mostly harmless. or was that most are harmless.

Oh well, enjoy your time here. Look forward to getting to know you.
