Ghola-Introduction
Hey guys,
I've done this before, but since it has been nearly 2 years ago, I figured I might as well resurrect my intro thread. As said before, I'm a Dune community "veteran" since Dreamers of Dune days, I have lots of love for the originals and nothing but scorn for the others, and I've recently re-read the series (have just started Chapterhouse today).
I hope to be a little more active this time around, and speaking of which - thread necromancy is acceptable around here, right? I'm asking in case I find an older discussion thread to add something to.

Welcome back, and yes feel free to bump threads that are long gone. We'd rather add to conversations than repeat them around here (as much as is possible anyways).

Marhaba!
Just be sure to take the proper precautions! (Laying something blessed by a friendly baraka on the keyboard before beginning is usually sufficient.) Some of the old threads come out hongry and mean when you wake them!

I'd rather have a bunch of huge threads than a bunch on small ones on the same topic .... makes for
better catch-up reading, too, including the derailments, which often end up being significant on their own ...

Re: Ghola-Introduction
catching chickens isn't that kin to rounding up the sheep or cattle.
and then again there's always the adage of chasing rabbits.
Either way we know our Papa Bear is a busy busy man.

What 'Rider said. The only thing better than talking about Dune is talking about Dune some more.SandRider wrote:I'd rather have a bunch of huge threads than a bunch on small ones on the same topic .... makes for

Derailments are definitely welcome, even if they make catching up a bit odd if you miss a day or three. "This is supposed to be a thread about BG OM versus ghola memories, Why are we talking about Touchdown Jesus?"

I'm still very proud of The Quarry but … let's face it; in the end the real best way to sign off would have been with a great big rollicking Culture novel.

Ah a tiny derailment! I feel at home already
And noted about the threads...I prefer knowing where the discussion is at rather than hunt through several of the same...which reminds me to go to one of them right now!
