Re: Post Your FH Collection
It's the Gollancz UK hardcover edition. I think I've only ever seen one other copy, so it may be pretty uncommon.
I stumbled across it in a used bookstore in Sydney in 1990, and snapped it up without a second thought. I hadn't read it, either, so I also had that motivation to get it.
Edited to add: The board has a size limit for attachments - 200KB at the moment, I think. It may be configurable though.

Re: Post Your FH Collection
Here's part two of my Frank Herbert collection:
De Draak in de Zee (The Dragon in the Sea)
De Dood van een onsterfelijke (The Death of an immortal) = The Heaven Makers
De Santaroga barriere (The Santaroga barrier)
Zweepster (Whipping Star)
Gonzende Nachtmerrie (Buzzing nightmare) = Hellstrom's Hive
Heiland (Redeemer) = The Jesus Incident
Verrijzenis (Resurrection) = The Lazarus Effect
Factor Hemelvaart (Ascension Factor)
I have no idea why they change the title of the book sometimes....

A novel idea, and useful as well. Unless the individual whom is burglarising you is of the OH persuasion and upon seeing the offending article, smashes it and loots you're stash.

Re: Post Your FH Collection
My collection is pretty small, but I'm working on expanding it slowly through second-hand book shops:
Destination: Void
The Jesus Incident
The Lazarus Effect
The Ascension Factor
Dune
Dune Messiah
Children of Dune
God Emperor of Dune
Heretics of Dune
Chapterhouse: Dune
Direct Descent
I've read Whipping Star and the Dosadi Experiment but I don't actually own them.

Sorry didnt respond earlier, I believe its the "new" but just any copy of the Illustrated version was wanted. If mine is the new one, I will work on getting the 1978 one. Its packed up in boxes at moment, will double check it.Askaris de Dar wrote:hi !trang wrote: the Illustrated DUNE... always wanted this version for the artwork.

Found a near mint first edition HB british Chapterhouse: Dune in a second hand store ... and there was much rejoicing.

One of them?
I got one too... had been eyeing it up in the local library for years, then they withdrew it and I got it.

I'm still very proud of The Quarry but … let's face it; in the end the real best way to sign off would have been with a great big rollicking Culture novel.

That is the one DunefishUK.
I had never seen it before anywhere and I think the Futar looks great! The backflap of the duskjacket is rather psychedelic if you ask me, with all the abstract shapes in the "throne" room. My other hardback first editions I bought on ebay ( except Godmakers, which I found in the same shop as this book ). Usually the only second-hand Dune you find here are paperback's or the nuDune shite.
