From Hungary, long term Dune and FH fan, hobby composer

Post by pzi »

Dear fellow Dune fans,

let me shortly introduce myself:
From Hungary, started to read Frank Herbert books as a teenager (two decades ago), after playing countless hours with the related computer games, and slowly got to the understanding that this man's vision is genial and almost if not fully unprecedented in the sci-fi and fictional literature. (I know I don't have to tell this here! :-) ) Read all the original Dune cycle books and continued with the other great novels like Dosadi Experiment, Jesus Incident and so on...

As a token of introduction gesture, let me present you some Dune inspired music, but only check them if you like Electronica and Industrial type of music. You might enjoy the moods and memories it may invoke...

Vortex Of Freedom: Dune
A more epic/yet sentimental electronica track: Vortex Of Freedom: Dune

All Cyborgs Must Die (The Butlerian Rage)
A darker/industrial track inspired by the events mentioned in the book as the Butlerian Jihad: All Cyborgs Must Die

Thanks all for keeping the Dune cycle discussions alive in this great forum!
cheers,
pzi.

Hi!

Those two tracks are sensational, they remind me of Star Control II music, in case you were around then. I think the recurrent industrial style lends itself well to something like the BJ, which we might think of as relentless, passionate, unmoved by discussion, and taking over all human lives.

Welcome Home!

I am not into tech music, but I didn´t mind listening to this.

Thank you for the kind words!
Yes, I know Star Control II...just like this https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jjpAE_inNlE excellent electronica :)
Also regarding BJ I have a similar preconception, after reading how humans were hiding from the machines while being hunted down, one can imagine the wrath it inspired.
