Simon, would you be happen to be a fan of Philippe Druillet or Didier Comès?
'cause your work is eerily reminiscent of a style of black and white graphic novel that was popular in France in the 70s.

Never heard of them, I'm a mid 80's to mid 90's era comic book guy.
I never sat down and said "I want to be this guy or that guy", my style just emerged from years of trial and error.
If I had to say I was influenced by any two artist, it would be Frank Miller and Todd MacFarlane.
Hence the use of shadows, and my apparent disregard for human form (a nasty habit I'm trying to curve, CURSE you MacFarlane!! lol).

....I am a quarter French however, by way of my father's mother (who was a big DUNE fan. She read it back before it was an actual novel, when it was being serialized), so maybe it's in the genes 8)

I didn't mean to imply you copied their style, just to point out artists you might enjoy.
Dune is an original creation that recycles old tropes, that's the way things work in my opinion.

So please do carry on :)

And if you're part French then we have one thing in common.
