I think he means my comment. But the question remains, how was that disrespectful to Kwisatz?

Kwisatz wrote:Yes, this is Gollancz edition of HoD. I have also Putnam ARC with oversized DJ proof with different price than the 1st edition.
In other news I confirmed that there was no PoD ARC, which is strange. Now I'm trying to buy MoD ARC and then my ARC collection of nuDune will be complete.
Expect in February a large set of articles from California Living on Tau ;)
Nice.
I don't have the HoD UK proof yet(now I know it exists), but a Chapterhouse UK proof with DJ is on the way to me.
My Frank Herbert collection is small, but I do have the US proofs for GEoD, HoD and Chapterhouse.

I was asking about his Heretics of Dune proof, not commenting on the BH/KJA proofs.
Believe me, I've looked through his collection photos here several times over the last year. It's a great resource for identifying what is available.

Sometimes some of us get upset about the constant bashing of the new stuff and the transferrence of said bashing to members, especially when respected members of the community merely discuss or display it as a part of a completist's impulse. And sometimes that upset is expressed prophylactically. That is probalby all this is. I don't think the original post was disrespectful, but I understand the response.

That or Jo was just foolin' around.

Please resume your Duning.

That is a long time Serk. I just remembered that I started on DN in 2004. That means I have been posting on Dune boards for a frickin' decade. Where the heck did all the time go?

What's the brown one between the B&N edition and your new heritage edition?

That's the leather SFBC 50th Anniversary edition. It's pretty hard to find, but I lucked out a few months ago and found that one for less than issue price.

      Correct.
Heritage Press was sold to the Danbury Mint, who also owns Easton Press. Towards the end of Heritage's existence, several titles were published by both.
The Dune Memorial Edition was was of them, with the main difference being the binding.
I don't have the Easton version yet to compare, but I believe the contents are the same in both versions.

The Heritage edition was also published in 1987.

That Dune Messiah first is sweet.

BTW Kwisatz, as much as I hate to say it, that Winds of Dune ARC is actually pretty cool, given that it has the jacket illustration that was kicked to the curb in favour of the UK version.

I found copies of God Emperor & Chapterhouse on ebay in this format and covers to match my trade copy of Heretics. I've been trying to locate the first three novels (Dune, Dune Messiah, & Children of Dune) but no luck so far.

Turns out I do not have a hard copy of Heretics, but here are my personal Dune novels vs the classroom sets I have.

I also have all four Pandora novels, Eye, The Best of Frank Herbert, Dosadi Experiment, & The Godmakers, all in paperback.

I want to get the newer hardcovers used to round out my collection as well as the Berkley trade paperbacks

Nice set, Rob. I've seen those trade PB editions separately many times, but never all together like that.
