That was [edit="happy_now_SC"]an almost[/edit] perfect review of a flawed brilliance, I too love my copy.

great review!!I have 3 copies, one pristine book club edition, one full size and one in between I use for reading and research.
Would maybe go 4 stars but its your review:) twenty minutes of reading wash's away all the crap that the twits have done.
"Long Live the Fighters", "Dragon.....the other white meat."

I started to post a comment there about the pdf, since you ended the review by mentioning how
difficult it is to obtain a copy ... then I remembered you're a lawyer & shit, and all that "copyright"
nonsense or whatever ....

Great article as per usual Omph.

Makes me think if there's someone around who couldn't sue theKJA and BH for ripping off of DE. I know that's what they wrote that letter to avoid, but it seems like the best shot at supoena~ing the "notes".
I don't think the author should make the reader do that much work - Kevin J. Anderson
We think we've updated 'Dune' for a modern readership without dumbing it down.- Brian Herbert
There’s an unwritten compact between you and the reader. If someone enters a bookstore and sets down hard earned money(energy) for your book, you owe that person some entertainment and as much more as you can give. - Frank Herbert

The last I heard, the McNellys are interested in republishing the DE in an electronic format. But I rather got the impression that the technical aspects of it might prove a bit daunting...

Hey! Maybe they could get Hackerson and Wife to do it for them, like that sell-out Ransom!

I presume he's talking about one of the Herbert/Ransom books being offered for sale in electronic format on KJA's blog.

C'mon, Chig. The guy's a poet. That's about as lucrative as being a philosopher. Give 'im a break!

Both of which are significantly less lucrative than those old people who scavenge for bottles to recycle...

And he probably hasn't even read any of the junk KJA's written, so he probably doesn't even have any idea what the deal is with KJA.

Considering that part of the rights are tied to the HLP, I'm going to give Ransom a pass, as we know, Frank's descendants leave much to be desired.

:hand: Which means he's just a lazy whore for not checking out who he's doing business with.

Why do you want to cut him this slack? Sure he was FH's friend and collaborator. But that was then and this is now.

Either you stand for something or you don't.
