Maybe to become a Master Scytale simply needed to be read the right way.

Since the original Greek was skytalê, "SKY-tail" is fine for the English. (Although "SKY-tuh-lee" would also be possible, I suppose.)

But as I've stated before, I disagree with some of his spellings. Like Chani when he pronounced it Cheini. (Or Chaini. Or Chaynee. Or....)

I just call him "Timmy." Tends to resolve the pronunciation problems.

In Dune Messiah, Scytale pretty much tells RM Mohiam she's ugly and calls Edric the Guild Navigator a fool. IMO no ordinary face dancer would get away with this kind of behaivior. Scytale had to be a BT Master.

My theory is that the BT made a face dancer-ghola of Master Scytale specifically as a weapon against Paul and those cells were incorporated into his next master-ghola incarnation.
