Of course there's a God, that's why FH went up there so early, to keep the Big Sky Daddy company. That's why P&B will live forever.

I also realized I got over 2,000 posts yesterday or so. 8)
Edit: And just now both 2020 posts and 20.20 posts a day!

That's why the Big Sky Daddy invented the Lake of Fire, so he doesn't have to hang out with the dead people he doesn't like.

Ah, but there you're wrong.

Big Sky Daddy knows in his infinite wisdom that that's no punishment for the like of P&B, so he draws the time, trying to devise a harsher punishment all for them.

It's kinda like the "can Big Sky Daddy make a rock so big even he can't lift?" paradox. Can he create a bad enough punishment?

How did I (Scytale) become a Master?

Post by True Scytale »

O friends of the holy Tleilaxu Communion, the answer is simple. I MADE myself a Master after much learning and many lifetimes. A long and intricate process of millennia, you can read about my righteous climb upwards in this universe of sin at the site of my memoirs:

www.freewebs.com/scytale

I welcome all who are Pure! By the way, Bijaz was just a vulgar little clown and I made sure his flesh was never rescued for axolotl treatment. you think I would want that weed following me through the centuries?!
Dear Heathen,

Despite the current genetic stasis of the Tleilaxu Communion we need fanatics and all willing to be ruthlessly cleansed and made into Face Dancers are welcome to join! If you are Pure...

Anyone ever notice this type of scytale?

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Scytale

Maybe to become a Master Scytale simply needed to be read the right way. :)

(This also corrected my pronunciation - I always pronounced it Sky - Tail)

Since the original Greek was skytalê, "SKY-tail" is fine for the English. (Although "SKY-tuh-lee" would also be possible, I suppose.)

It's like Odrade: is it "oh-DRADE" or "Oh-DRAH-dee" (or -deh)? ;)

"SIH-tuh-lee" (like Italy) just sounds wrong here, no?

I like your "reading his code the right way" interpretation, though. :)

I've always pronounced it SKY-tul, but I'm probably wrong.

And that's OK, too! :D

Say it (and the other names) however you want. If people don't understand who you mean, they'll ask. Or they'll remain in ignorance. Both work, no? ;)

I suppose someone could listen to the recordings to see how FH said it....

But if he really cared how people read the names, he'd have provided a pronunciation guide, no? ;)

But as I've stated before, I disagree with some of his spellings. Like Chani when he pronounced it Cheini. (Or Chaini. Or Chaynee. Or....) ;)

I just call him "Timmy." Tends to resolve the pronunciation problems.

Of course you don't. And it wouldn't matter if you did, because you're Canadian and talk funny, so no one but the other Canadians would be able to read your notation and make any sense of it. (And just between us, the others have privately expressed the opinion that your accent is fairly bad, even for one of them.)

Omph, listen closely for the sound of the wind hissing your way from my distended colon!

Poor Omph...

Anyway, I usually pronounce names in books the way that sounds coolest to me. If it doesn't sound good in my head then it's irritating to read. Hence Sky - tail.

In addition to a bent blue wang, he sported a lurid green tushie. No, Nature had not been kind to poor Tleszer....

I'm not sure if this has been suggested yet...

In Dune Messiah, Scytale pretty much tells RM Mohiam she's ugly and calls Edric the Guild Navigator a fool. IMO no ordinary face dancer would get away with this kind of behaivior. Scytale had to be a BT Master.

My theory is that the BT made a face dancer-ghola of Master Scytale specifically as a weapon against Paul and those cells were incorporated into his next master-ghola incarnation.
