Entry number 5; brief preface

Post by Lolronica »

Entry withdrawn.

This is really stupid. If there are all of these special rules and conditions (submissions by email only, no association with user names on Jacurutu, and btw it's being run from another site and only entries are hosted here) WHY THE FUCK DIDN'T ANYONE THINK TO POST ANY OF THAT OR EVEN A LINK AT THE TOP OF THE THREAD?

I was not alone. I am the contest facilitator: I post all the entries so that they are anonymous during the judging period.

Submissions should again be sent as an email message containing styled text (please limit this to italics, boldface or underlining) to fanficcon at hairyticksofdune.net. No file attachments, please. Each submission will be acknowledged by return email upon receipt and reposted anonymously, using an identifying number, in its own thread in a special area on the Jacurutu forum and on The Hoary Tales of Dune blog on this website.

Multiple submissions by the same author are permitted.

You were fucking directed to the page on HToD the other day. If you couldn't be bothered to even look at the directions there, then you really have nothing to bitch about.

Yeah, I should have reposted the directions here, too. But I didn't. Tough fucking tit, go whine to someone else.

You didn't have to withdraw your entry. The anonymity thing was primarily instituted during the earlier Dune fanfic contest to prevent unwarranted attacks on entries by people not otherwise welcome here, should they have found the temerity to actually submit something. Since you're new here and not really that well-known yet, it probably wouldn't have had any effect on voting on your submission.

(And just for the record, the information for the earlier contest was all provided on HToD as well. I didn't realize that it's such a burden for people to click a link to another site. I'll keep that in mind and be sure to double post everything on both sites if and when another contest is held.)

Good thinking Talos. I always say its best to make important threads dumbfuck proof.

It's not a matter of 'dumbfuck-proofing', yes I'm new here, never looked at HToD, that answered my question about the deadline, there was no direction to check it.

Far from a 'dumbfuck'.

It is also really simple. Instead of rushing to attack the noob (whose contribution was better than most, likely all), you simply post something like:

'The rules are here' and place the link after that.

Cliche, but it ain't rocket science, doesn't require heavy effort, either.

Maybe that was planned half-assedness. Theoretically, wouldn't the worst of the entries be the best?

It was not nearly half-finished. The idea was to parody McDune, not outdo it.

Really? This is our second contest and thus far of the about 15 people who have submitted entries, you're the only one who has fucked it up. So excuse me if the phrase high-maintenance dumbfuck bitch has started coming to mind....

This was done, for you & in response to your question. Or do you mean you didn't read this post?

:?

Um... search the board for "Parody Contest"?

Also: http://www.google.com/search?client=saf ... 8&oe=UTF-8" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Granted, there should have been stickied announcements in the contest forum, like we did for the fanfic contest, but it's not like the information couldn't be found. :(
The first intraboard link takes you to this post:
SandChigger wrote:By popular demand, IT'S ANOTHER WRITING CONTEST!!!

Details here!
And that link takes you to HToD.

There's no point in answering your questions if you're too fucking lazy or stupid to pay attention to the answers.

So get over yourself and prove it. Re-post it.

Or don't.

I just realized how little I care.

I know I pmed you about it with out any harsh words. I truly wished to read it, but this back and forth is really killing my interest.

Also, in terms of quality of the parody, maybe some people were serious about their entries, but I'm sure most were deliberately "sucky" or "odd" so as to mock McDune and the people who think it better or as good as the originals.

And, no fucking way was it better than any of the others. And who the fuck is sofar?

No, FUCK YOU for a joke. What the hell does the US military have to do with shit here? (What, is that some peek into a whole shitpile of hidden nonsense you've yet to reveal? )

Again, you're the first person to have any problem with the way things are being done.

How about this: go reread McDune (TEN, soon-to-be ELEVEN, books!) and find it wonderful this time. Having a dumbfuck like you on our side does nothing for our image.

(And may I say that the stupid abbreviated way you're posting your comments does nothing to foster an impression that you're not a lazy-assed whiner.)

Yeah, what the fuck is "all too much like US milit"?

Or, was that just the rough draft of the post that you're eventually going to put up after you've gotten some feedback on this brief preface?

Wow, this thread got out of control in a hurry.

Can't we just say mistakes were made, and move on? Can't we just all get along? :?
