I do agree with the blogger that it looks more like Conan O'Brian.

it's an alsacian choucroute garnie, French for dressed sauerkraut, so that's what the bed is...

Sorry I too would have preferred the hash browns.

Sadly, i think the Tea Party is representative of the underbelly of the Great Experiment. Whenever people talk about the "melting pot" or "salad bowl" or whatever they called it in your grade school, no one mentions the unintended byproduct of multicultural society, a majority that feels threatened by "The Other." I remember hearing that the 300 millionth American born had a good chance of being Hispanic, and remember there were many here who weren't happy about it. Here in California, Caucasians are no longer the majority, and because business flock blindly after cash, entire cities have adapted to this new population, causing a backlash. (I was in an El Pollo loco last month where they were calling out peoples orders in Spanish first, then in English, some guy got so mad he yelled at the cashier and stormed out.)

Whenever you hear people yelling "we just want our country back" i think this is what they mean, and the minority birthrate is outpacing Caucasian, they feel their "time" is somehow disappearing and they feel Obama is representative of that. The whole taxes thing never made sense. W ballooned the debt to record proportions and there wasn't a peep out of them until after the election, and i read the other day that over 90 percent of them are unaware that Obama has cut their taxes (how can you be unaware of this when this is your entire platform?) I think to get a better picture of how they view Obama's policies you have to put a silent "for minorities" at the end of everything he proposes.

Healthcare! (for minorities)
Jobs! (for minorities)
Social Services! (for minorities)

To which they respond: hell no!

You can hear the emotion in their voices, when Rush or Palin or Beck etc. talks you can hear how much they despise "The Other" be they gays, blacks, Hispanics, (the entire middle east). I've never seen such hateful, not just in what's said but the venomous tones things are said in. And if you're looking at the GOP contenders, however insane they seem, each promises to protect "American values" from "the other" which resonates with the base, and the concentrated core of that base is the tea party.

Dems dismiss it because it doesn't seem to have much logical coherence, but personally i think that's a mistake. I think its pure tribalism (them vs us) connecting on an emotional level that many on the right who know better continue to exploit, we got demagogues popping up all over the place here, and until this underlying issue is somehow resolved its only gonna get worse before it gets better. But i don't think it will ever go away, but rather something that comes and goes. I remember when Clinton was in office he made a grand apology for the Japanese Internment camps of the 40's, i'm sure in about 50 years or so, some president will be making some grand apology for Gitmo, then it will happen again

Anyway, just my take.

What's a Caucasian, really? I remember when I was a kid some people came to my school and examined us kids. They looked me over, asked me some questions- and labeled me a Caucasian. Maybe I'm remembering this wrong, but it stuck with me for some reason. I'm a brown "Mexican-American."

 I'm pretty sure you were tagged wrong!

It in modern usage means "european" but it's really a nonsense term, created by idiots back (way back) in the day.

okay, so what's another word for "not the majority", as in:
"In the State of Texas, people of European-descent (aka "White Folk") are not the majority racial demographic." ?

Cracker? Honky?

No matter how relatively few "caucasians" there are we will always be the oppressors.

Doesn't "Caucasian" refer to people whose ancestors are from the other side of the Caucasus then the swarthy folks?
