Different risk people having different rates is fine by me, same as with cars - but the problem might be if people start being refused coverage altogether for some things? That wouldn't be good.

That's exactly what is happening. They're looking for any excuse to tie something to a pre-existing condition so they won't have to pay for it.

As much as I think it would be nice to pay lower rates because in better health it defeats the whole concept of insurance if you can't get it for when you need it.

Insurance is betting against yourself.

The thing that gets me is, I paid less last year than my deductable is going to be this year. :confusion-shrug:

And you'll probably be saying that every year from now on for the rest of your life.
That's what pisses me off. :x

There's already some pretty insured-favorable rules on that under the new Act. Nt sure at all how it works, but I hear that is getting tougher for insurance companies.

I don't really know how to feel about this insurance bullshit, it doesn't jive with my right-wing ideology at all.

Up until now it's just come out of my paycheck and I didn't really notice it.

 No, of course not! It's the same thing to me though as this whole thing with just paying for medical out of pocket, or having to have insurance etc.

Don't know how conservatives could have embraced Rand so thoroughly while remaining absolutely silent on her rather loud religious views. They seem to mount a rather aggressive defense of their religion in all other aspects (i think this week they're battling the Muppets)

They don't need muppets, they'll kill each other off.
