It's interesting how you often misuse that verb.

"Think", I mean.

We should have a forum for recipes and knitting too!
As an online discussion grows longer, the probability of a comparison involving Hypatia approaches one.

I'll second that - some sort of dedicated Dune Cook Book forum, where we could share Dune related cooking ideas... oh .. wait... no. That's a shit idea. :P

(I'm converted to the idea of a politics forum now - great addition :))

With the new capability demonstrated by its launch yesterday of the Omid ("Hope") satellite, Iran now has a "place to stand". All the crazies need now is a few bombs as leverage.

Time to move to a new planet!
I have always felt that Israel's 400 atomics are a danger to the world (Don't they have mad people in Israel?, what if one of these days a madman like in that Stanley Kubrick movie begins to launch bombs?), it'd healthy to have another nuclear power in the region (What would happen if Pakistan goes Taliban?!). Just like the Mutually assured destruction during the cold war, and even today, brought a strained peace/cold war.
Only the books written by Frank Herbert are canon.

Well, that's just kooky. ;)

Personally, I have always known that the only people who can be trusted with nuclear weapons of any megatonnage are ...

Magical Jewish Saints. :P

The U.S. believes Iran is secretly trying to pursue nuclear weapons, but Iran has denied this accusation, saying its program is solely for peaceful purposes such as electricity.

Ahmadinejad said Tuesday that the "world does not want to see the dark age of Bush repeated."
I find this all very encouraging. Both presidents are being extremely nice to one another (as far as this preliminary flirting in the press goes), compared to the paranoid coldwarish relationship between Iran and the Bush Administration. I'm glad to see that Ahmadinejad recognizes the difference between administrations, rather than generalizing.

As I said before, I'm fairly confident that M.A's intentions are what he says they are. I think it would be foolish to believe in the picture Bush painted of Iran, which I'm sure many Americans will find difficult to get out of their heads.

And obviously, these talks would help, whether his call for peace and diplomacy are true or not. It can allow the US to get a better look at the situation. For all I know, they could sit down and talk, and quickly find out that M.A. is indeed fucked in the head. Better to find out for sure, than to bomb first and ask questions later.

He sounds as if he's had a moment of sanity, if that condition persists we might actually get somewhere.

Fingers crossed. No one wants a world war. Except of course all those war profiteers owned by the Carlyle Group.

About the only thing that gets the young people politically involved.
I'd like to see a draft.

You're probably very right. Being drafted into WWIII is not something I would enjoy. I would only go willingly if I truly felt that my country needed defending. But so far, we're pretty comfy up here.

Not big enough.

Like the stimulus, to lower the debt we have to spend even more money.

It's all clear now... Funny stuff indeed.

Random IG-88 commentary... Don't you think he looked surprisingly non-menacing for the most badass robot in Star Wars? That's why I had trouble reading all the novels/shorts about him. I had trouble picturing his boring structure accomplishing such crazy physical tasks, as per described.
