Freak I found this site while investigating an unusual spider (Baidu [Spider]). Thought you'd find it useful.

Thanks, I hope to read it someday...

(my problem is not a lack of resources, but time :wink: )

If anyone can find anything there in the mean time, I'd be glad to impliment it.

I really do appreciate your help.

Hi freakzilla,

Only had a quick look.

First off your keywords, and description meta tags are blank. These are often over looked in SEO, but they still have a place. I'd recommend at the very least put some keywords on your pages.

For instance "Dune, The Cast out, Orthodox Herbertarians, Dune Forum," also if you put a quite specific key phrase in say "Dune forum against prequels" you would come top of any google search for just that phrase.

Also you don't seem to have a sitemap.xml or robots.txt. I would advised at least making a sitemap.xml with your index pages and forums and sub forums as these should be pretty static. You can see how to set out a sitemap on my technical blog here. Once created and placed on your site you can submit the location of your sitemap to all the search engines . It increases the chance of your site getting fully indexed and its ranking.

More to follow.

a more advanced suggestion, and i don't know how doable this is for your setup.

You could add a page that is static html. A page about the site, its history, why it was set up etc. If you set this up right using <h1> to <h6> tags <a> tags. it would really help your Search engine positioning.

e.g

<body>

<h1> Jacurutu - The Cast Out </h1>

<h2>Site History </h2>

<h2> Site Mission</h2>
<h3>Dune</h3>
blah blah
<h4>Frank Herbert</h4>
blah blah blah
<h4>The pretenders</h4>
blah blah blah
<h5> Brian Herbert</h5>
blah blah

<h2>Dune discussion </h2>
<a href="viewforum.php?f=2">Golden Path</a>
etc etc
</body>

Cool info, Kat, thanks! :)

All description meta tags should contain the following:

The new Dune books are crap and Kevin J. Anderson is a mofo hack. :twisted:

The #2 result mentions Jacurutu in the description (as well as thefishspeaker):

New Dune forum!!! - Syfy Forums
10 posts - 7 authors - Last post: Nov 28, 2009
Other Dune forums (I know there are a few dreamers at Jacurutu) listed here - http://www.thefishspeaker.co.uk/?cat=9" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; ...
