A yahoo search for "Jacurutu Forum" yeilds my humble site as #1.

Get more servers to hold a reference to it. I'm betting we're on our way.

it is on the first page of google.

but the meta data of the page aren't very helpful:
• Index page
General Dune Discussion Can't find the appropriate forum for your topic? Post it here! Moderators: Tleilax Master B, Crysknife, Freakzilla, ...
http://www.jacurutu.com/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; -
the "• Index page" is from the title section of the metadata.

I got this from another forum I go to, but in order to register higher on a Google search, you need to be referenced by lots of other sites... But you can't just have "Jacurutu.Com" pop up a couple dozen times on a single page and hope Google equates that to Internet-popularity.

Google looks for references on sites that have

Good formatting
Different-sized text
Bolded, italicized, and other forms of word-accenting
Pictures
Links

and of course, the site you want

Basically, Google looks for sites that appear professionally done. Attention needs to be given to various things in various ways to give the impression of an actual site that can be used as "reference", and not a dummy-page. If you grab yourself a Freewebs account and have "Jacurutu.Com" written a million times, it just overlooks it.

google fights

dune novels.Com 52600 results
Vs
jacurutu.com 3070 results
http://www.googlefight.com/index.php?la ... curutu.com" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

But

dunenovels 3940 results
vs
jacurutu 130000 results
http://www.googlefight.com/index.php?la ... 2=jacurutu" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Make your choice :)

edit: close one
http://www.googlefight.com/index.php?la ... 2=jacurutu" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Regarding google search, then one should also remember that the "weight" given to a link is also a function of that site's own google ranking (the quality of the site and the sites relevance for the subject!).

And there is a few things one could do - such as add relevant comments to the google search listing (I have no idea how much this counts where, but it cannot hurt). I am not advocating google-bombing or anything here, just that we add comments we feel are true and relevant.
I am sure Conway will come by in a second or two and call this shilling (not understanding the term), and maybe advertise the idea on KJASF (not understanding the difference between open and closed communities).

But most importantly - if there are legitimate sites out there, about Dune, which do not link to jacurutu, they should... :-)

I don't think my mind or my body could handle LSD again. I've never even seen peyote around these parts. 'Shrooms are pretty popular, but they make me barf.

I haven't been able to get shrooms for years, it's the only drug other than alcohol that I'd do again.

If you can work out what file the forum is getting the code for the header from, you can change it.

I don;t know for sure but I'd imagine it would be similar to a Wordpress blog where there's a file called "header.php" which you can edit. All you need to do is replace where it has some code shit in the title tag (for taking the title from the admin settings - in wp it's : <?php bloginfo('name'); ?>) with the actual title you want it to display.

The meta tags are in there too.

Or there might be a mod/plugin you could use :P

I've played with phpBB mods, and forums for a while, but to be honest, I like SimpleMachinesForums (SMF), or using something like what I did here, What-If? Fiction -- my site that I haven't finished. But basically, it's forum with the ability to have a news site, article site, and other simple functions, built-in. I'd let you snoop around on an admin account and make changes if you'd like, Freak.

I can make a test site with the server data for what you'd like. It would be a full website, with a built-in forum.

Absolutely true!

It's no trouble. Php-Fusion is a Plug and go pre-built script. You get your core stuff, and then get your addons. Make all the default settings, and then let people have at it.

Really, I could have it done in about 2 hours.

Transferring the conversations over, however... That's something that may take more time. Database backup is must. If it was done, I'd set it up, and hand over the keys. :)
